About the Team
Rapid7's Security Consulting team is made up of field experts with years of security experience who help customers get the most out of Rapid7's product suite. Our onboarding and deployment services are built to help customers stand up and run effective security programs, combining structured product onboarding with product configurations, process automation, and reporting workflows.
About the Role
As a Product Security Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to assist post-sales customers in deploying and deriving value from Rapid7 products. Specifically, your focus will be to:
  • Deploy Rapid7 products across diverse customer environments by applying security best practices and documenting implementation decisions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build and customize solutions using Python, SQL, and REST APIs, including reporting workflows, custom dashboards, and data pipeline integrations.
  • Partner with sales teams to scope engagements and provide technical input during the pre-sales cycle.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and internal process improvements by contributing to delivery collateral, tooling, and operational frameworks.
  • Make efficient decisions to resolve technical deployment challenges while integrating diverse stakeholder perspectives to maintain momentum.
  • Travel occasionally for select customer engagements as required.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
  • 2-5 years of experience with security technologies such as SIEM, vulnerability management, identity and access management, GRC, or endpoint protection.
  • Demonstrate strong Python skills, including building documented, maintainable scripts that interact with REST APIs, relational databases (Postgres), and data pipelines.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, including complex JOINs and subqueries.
  • Possess a solid understanding of network protocols such as DHCP, IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
  • Deploy workloads effectively across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including configuration and policy management.
  • Hold administrator-level experience with Windows Server or Linux platforms.
  • Communicate complex technical decisions clearly to convey objectives and rationale to diverse audiences.
  • Take accountability for driving implementation outcomes and meeting commitments to deliver value for business and customer security needs.
  • Act as an active driver when navigating change and ambiguity across customer environments, maintaining a forward-looking perspective to solve complex operational challenges.
  • Bring familiarity with the InsightVM data model, ticketing systems, CI/CD pipelines, password vaults, or prior consulting experience.

The annual salary range for this role, depending on location, is:
United States: $89,300.00 - 120,700.00 USD Annual
Salary ranges may vary based on geographical location. This range does not include variable/incentive compensation, equity and benefits (where applicable/eligible).
