Position Overview

We are looking for a Product Owner for the SWAT team—focused on building internal tools that enable and support engineering and marketing teams to release high-quality, compliant, and localized Omnipod 5 mobile apps faster and more reliably.

This role works closely with product management, engineering, QA, UX, localization, and DevOps to define, develop, and deploy internal tools. The ideal candidate is a strong cross-functional collaborator, familiar with scrum product ownership, and skilled in working across diverse technical domains.

Why Join Us?

  • Help improve the lives of people with diabetes through innovative, accessible technology.
  • Play a pivotal role in making mobile app development faster, safer, and more scalable.
  • Collaborate with experienced product leaders, engineers, and clinicians at the forefront of connected care in diabetes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the product owner for the Mobile SWAT team, facilitating coordination and dependency management across other engineering teams.
  • Define, maintain, and evangelize the vision and roadmap for internal tools supporting mobile app development.
  • Gather and synthesize requirements from engineering stakeholders across mobile apps, Pod firmware, internal dev tools, and market expansion.
  • Prioritize and manage product backlogs for two scrum teams, including well-written, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria that reflect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and product demos.
  • Partner with QA to ensure frequent and effective validation of new tools and enhancements.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and coordination, especially between mobile engineering, QA, DevOps, regulatory, and localization teams.
  • Increase awareness and visibility of the SWAT team’s capabilities and roadmap across the broader technical organization.
  • Ensure tools meet Insulet’s security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and report on tool adoption, automation performance, and team impact to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support rollout through training materials, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of work experience preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, 6 years of related experience with 3 years in medical device as a Product Owner will be considered.
  • Prior experience as a product owner or product manager, ideally in consumer tech, digital health, or regulated software.
  • Excellent backlog management, prioritization, and Agile delivery skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse technical teams and drive consensus.
  • Effective communicator with a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with app development, developer toolchains, or internal platforms.
  • Familiarity with mobile app development lifecycle (iOS/Android), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with software localization/internationalization workflows.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and SAFe environments.
  • Understanding of FDA or ISO regulatory requirements for medical software.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

  • US travel as needed (at least once per quarter)

NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired). #LI-Remote
