Tackle is the leading solution built to help software companies generate revenue through a data-driven Cloud go-to-market (Cloud GTM). Our Platform and our team come together to help our customers identify the right buyers, grow cloud co-sell relationships, and transact efficiently at scale through AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft.

Tackle works with more than 500 software companies including CrowdStrike, HashiCorp, New Relic, Snyk and many more at every stage—from companies scaling their go-to-market to the largest software companies in the world. We are venture backed by three of the world's top SaaS investors—a16z, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Coatue—to execute on our mission to positively transform the way that software is sold.

The Product Operations Director is a strategic partner to the VP of Product & Engineering, owning the operational backbone of the Product, UX, and Engineering teams. This critical role is a force multiplier—bringing clarity to complexity, helping all functions improve execution, and ensuring strategic initiatives translate into measurable outcomes. You will lead efforts to optimize processes, improve velocity and predictability, and increase ROI across the organization, while also coordinating cross-functional alignment with Go-to-Market teams. As we transition into an AI-first company, you will play a central role in guiding our transformation, tracking and improving employee satisfaction, and nurturing a high-performance culture rooted in transparency, trust, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

1. Lead Operational Efficiency & Process Transformation

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve agile development processes (incl. capacity planning, estimation, steering and retrospective ceremonies) in partnership with product and engineering leaders to increase delivery performance and predictability
  • Drive efficiency by eliminating bottlenecks, establishing best practices, documenting processes and guidelines, providing coaching, ensure consistent adoption across teams, and communicating results
  • Develop, run and improve the product and engineering calendar to promote a high performing and ever improving organization
  • Identify opportunities for AI-driven tools & process improvements, ensuring measurable ROI and improved efficiency

2. Objectives, Metrics & Visibility

  • Partner with the VP to set and cascade objectives (OKRs), metrics, and KPIs across functions, ensuring alignment with company strategy
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define, negotiate, and track product usage metrics
  • Define, track, and report on key metrics to increase visibility and accountability through dashboards and regular reviews: Product usage, AARR & growth metrics, Engineering metrics, and tie product & engineering investments and metrics to GRR, NRR, ARR, Growth
  • Drive a data-driven culture by ensuring teams have access to actionable insights and performance data, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Build and manage dashboards and reporting cadences to increase visibility across the company

3. P&E Calendar, Release & GTM Readiness

  • Own the master P&E calendar, including P&E ceremonies, product release milestones, monthly/quarterly business reviews, and all leadership-level forums
  • Ensure follow-through on action items and decisions made during leadership meetings
  • Own the cross-functional release calendar and coordinate GTM readiness with Sales Engineering, Support, Professional Services, and Marketing
  • Partner with Product Marketing to ensure smooth internal and external launches
  • Act as the central point of contact for cross-functional launch activities

4. Tooling & Systems Ownership

  • Define and document standards - Collaborate with P&E leaders to create clear, documented standards for how processes, systems, and tools like Slack, Confluence, and Jira should be used (e.g., channel structure, documentation templates, workflow conventions)
  • Roll out these standards through onboarding, training, and regular communications, ensuring everyone knows what “good” looks like
  • Partner with engineering and product managers to monitor adherence, using data and regular audits to identify gaps (e.g., unused Confluence pages, cluttered Slack channels, inconsistent Jira boards)
  • Empower teams to take ownership by setting clear expectations and providing feedback when standards aren’t met, avoiding micromanagement but ensuring accountability
  • Work with engineering to integrate tools for seamless workflows (e.g., linking Jira and Slack for automated notifications, connecting Confluence pages to Jira issues)
  • Identify and remove redundant or underutilized tools, and recommend improvements or replacements as needed.

5. Strategic Support

  • Act as a right-hand strategic operator for the VP of Product & Engineering, helping facilitate in meetings, driving follow-ups, driving the calendar, and ensuring alignment across leadership
  • Prepare board decks, executive updates, and cross-functional communication, including All-Hands presentations and company-wide P&E updates
  • Support budget management, software/tooling spend analysis, and long-range headcount planning across the department
  • Lead and manage complex cross-functional initiatives, ensuring progress and accountability, including high-impact AI initiatives
  • In partnership with P&E leaders, coordinate and support budget planning, headcount forecasting, and software spend optimization in partnership with finance and people team
  • Measure and ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities and organizational growth plans
