Position Purpose: Subject matter expert and senior member of the Procurement Contract team with tasks that include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts and related actions (amendments, terminations, other notices) with third party vendors for a variety of spend categories (IT, Health Operations, Enterprise & Professional Services). Manage various types of agreements, such as master service agreements (MSA), business associate agreements (BAA), delegated services agreements, statements of work (SOW), nondisclosure agreements (NDA), service level agreements (SLA), software license agreements, other third-party contracts, and government flow down requirements.

Responsibilities:
Acts as senior level contract specialist, providing peer mentorship and training to junior level contract specialists.
Supports leadership with process improvement to streamline and improve the overall skillset of the department, along with the improvement to processes, tools, and resources.
Reviews, drafts, and negotiates contracts and related actions for new and existing enterprise-wide and local Health Plan vendors, ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and category and sourcing strategies.
Acts as second level reviewer of contracts managed by junior level peers.
Maintains detailed and accurate records of all contract-related documents pursuant to company standards; promptly updates contract management systems with current information; documents approvals according to policies.
Identifies gaps in procedures and tools and takes ownership of projects to close gaps.
Ensures all contracts are executed in compliance with company delegation of approval, compliance, and security policies; analyzes potential risk exposures in existing and new contracts, develops recommendations to mitigate risks, and documents final positions and approvals.
Timely addresses and resolves questions or issues related to contracts with vendors.
Works with Corporate Legal, Compliance, Business SMEs, Category Management, Health Plans, and other departments to understand, document, and interpret standard contract provisions, strategy requirements, and approved alternate positions to implement within the contract action.
Delivers premium customer service to internal stakeholders throughout the contracting process; responds promptly to inbound requests in line with procurement SLAs; provides frequent updates on contract status; maintains professional communication at all times.
Supports peers with addressing complex issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
6+ years of contracting, procurement, legal, or vendor management experience required.
6+ years of reviewing complex legal and commercial terms and raising risk exposures and recommendations to mitigate required.
6+ years of understanding and supporting the sourcing and procurement processes with soliciting, awarding, contracting, and onboarding new and existing vendors required.
