What You'll Do
- Lead and optimize assigned manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, productivity, and process stability.
- Monitor process performance, analyze data trends, and drive root cause investigations for quality and equipment issues.
- Design, maintain, and improve PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other control systems supporting fiber manufacturing operations.
- Implement automation and process control improvements that enhance reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for process, automation, instrumentation, and equipment-related challenges.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and improve plant performance.
- Lead continuous improvement, cost reduction, and capital project initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Support new product introductions, process qualifications, and equipment upgrades.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, KPIs, reporting tools, and control system standards.
- Collaborate with global Prysmian engineering teams to share best practices and implement innovative manufacturing solutions.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and provide occasional off-hours support as needed.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with large data sets and making data-driven decisions
- Experience with optical fiber manufacturing (VAD, OVD, AVD, PCVD, preform manufacturing, fiber draw, coating, or related processes) is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, process control, industrial automation, or process engineering environments.
- Experience with PLC programming platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent.
- Experience working with HMI, SCADA, industrial networks, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and process improvement methodologies such as SPC, Minitab, Six Sigma, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with motion control systems, machine vision, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Experience managing capital projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Industry Experience Advantage
