The Opportunity

As investor interest in private markets accelerates, the Private Markets team within Advice & Wealth Solutions is helping drive future growth and expansion of our offer. Our role is to design, deliver, and scale private markets solutions that can meaningfully enhance long‑term outcomes for the right investors, while staying true to Vanguard’s principles of trust, discipline, and rigor.


The Role

The Private Equity Specialist serves in a client‑facing role within Vanguard’s private markets offering, leading high‑quality conversations with eligible investors about private equity products. This role requires investment acumen, strong judgment, and the ability to independently guide investors through complex concepts, help them navigate enrollment and manage ongoing servicing needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in‑depth client conversations about Vanguard’s private equity offering, clearly explaining investment rationale, structure, risks, and long‑term considerations.
  • Partner with relationship teams and advisors to assess client needs and position private equity solutions for the right investors at the right time
  • Conduct proactive outreach to eligible and interested investors to educate, engage, and support participation in the private equity program.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for investors throughout the private equity enrollment process, from initial interest through subscription completion.
  • Support fulfillment of private equity capital calls and respond to servicing needs across the investment lifecycle.
  • Address client inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and appropriate escalation when needed.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of the private equity offer by helping develop or refine procedures, tools, and client resources as the program grows.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve client issues, improve the overall experience, and strengthen delivery of private markets solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years’ experience within Financial Services industry or function preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in wealth management, investment solutions, or client‑facing financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex client conversations involving risk, investment tradeoffs, and long‑term outcomes.
  • Strong communicator with advanced client relationship management skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to navigate complex policies, processes, and stakeholder environments with good judgment and independence.
  • Client‑facing experience required, with a strong focus on delivering thoughtful, client‑centric solutions.
  • Strong investment acumen; private equity or alternatives experience a plus.
  • This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). In particular, the Series 63 and 7. These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Ultra High Net Worth or complex investor segments.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Dynamics, DCC, or Genesys.

*This role will report to the Private Markets Program & Operations Lead, a position currently being filled.
