Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
This is a remote position. To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in the Pacific Standard Time zone.
Your future team
We're hiring a motivated Principal Program Manager, working closely with and reporting into the Head of Lighthouse. This team sits under CTO Strategic Initiatives - focused on building a world-class engineering organization - with workforce planning and execution (Lighthouse) being critical to the CTO and all of Atlassian.
As a key member of this dynamic team, you will work with a cross functional group of business leaders, data scientists and program managers to shape the future of teams at Atlassian. You will work backwards from the business objectives, and combine it with people insights to deliver best-in class workforce plans for the organization.
What you'll do
  • Strategic Partnership: Engage with business leaders to understand their business objectives and people goals to build their long range workforce strategy plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional partners across Atlassian, including Business Stakeholders, Finance Partners, HRBPs and Talent Acquisition to deliver workforce strategies across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in how programs are developed and executed.
  • Build and Scale Workforce Planning Rhythms: Partner with cross functional teams and other workforce planning squads in Atlassians to scale standardized processes and product experiences in the domain.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the program and own communications to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience in program management
  • Background in data analytics and insights, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including experience with facilitating meetings and engaging with an executive audience).
  • Demonstrated experience and success leading high impact, cross-functional programs or projects with a strong sense of urgency and commitment
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves and get things done through taking calculated risks and experimenting with new solutions
  • Expertise partnering with leaders and stakeholders on strategy while leading roadmap creation, prioritization processes, and change management communication.
  • Familiarity with people data and products is preferred, but not required

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $194,400 - $253,800

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
