Job Summary:
At Acrisure Underwriting, we believe that people deserve better protection and that data and technology make it possible. We are looking for an actuary who shares our belief. This isn’t a back‑office or “sit‑in‑the‑ivory‑tower” position. This is a position where we are building great products and need someone excited by the prospect of joining the team.
With the support of the leadership of Acrisure, we are building a modern tech platform that includes an actuarial and analytics suite alongside the underwriting workbench. We need someone creative who can go deep to solve real business problems, build and leverage analytics and technology to shape pricing strategies, build and refine models, inform product design (new and existing), and tell compelling data‑driven stories to our carrier partners and reinsurers.
You’ll partner daily with underwriters, program managers, software and data engineers, and reinsurance brokers. Your work will inform pricing actions, uncover new opportunities, and drive smarter decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Pricing & Indications
Build and maintain actuarial pricing models; prepare and present indication reports.
• Methodology Enhancement
Refine and optimize pricing methodologies to improve profitability and competitiveness.
• Analytics & Automation
Leverage Python, SQL (and advanced Excel) to streamline processes, automate tasks, and extract actionable insights.
• Data Exploration
Work with large, complex datasets to identify trends, emerging exposures, and business opportunities.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Engage underwriters, claims professionals, program teams, and reinsurance brokers to translate technical analyses into clear business recommendations.
• Reporting & Visualization
Create compelling dashboards and presentations that “sell” our story to internal stakeholders and external reinsurers.
• Process Improvement
Proactively identify and implement efficiency gains across the actuarial workflow.
Requirements:
• FCAS/ACAS credential with ~5-10 years of P&C pricing experience.
• Solid track record in actuarial pricing, indications, and data analysis.
• Hands‑on proficiency in Python and SQL for both modeling and automation.
• Advanced Excel skills to complement your coding toolkit.
• Excellent communicator—skilled at distilling complex analyses into clear business insights.
• Self‑starter comfortable in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Technology‑driven mindset with a passion for modernizing actuarial workflows.
