LPL Financial is seeking an experienced IFS Platform Principal Tech Lead to drive the design, delivery, and evolution of critical Move Money capabilities supporting advisors and clients. This role will lead technical initiatives across workflows including Checks, ACH, Journals, Wires, and Complex Retirement transactions while partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Operations teams.

Job Overview

The IFS Platform Principal Tech Lead is responsible for leading technical delivery, platform modernization, and engineering excellence for Move Money solutions within LPL Financial. This role provides technical leadership across workflow automation, platform integrations, cloud technologies, and enterprise payment capabilities while partnering with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. The position also plays a key role in developing engineering talent, establishing technical standards, and driving strategic technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, support, and enhancement of Move Money workflows, including Checks, ACH, Journals, Wires, and Complex Retirement solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership for integrations across platforms and vendors, including IFS, payment technologies, and enterprise systems.

  • Establish and promote engineering standards, architecture patterns, coding best practices, and software development processes.

  • Mentor and develop engineering teams through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

  • Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Drive execution of strategic technology initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational objectives and technology roadmaps.

  • Support the adoption of cloud-native architectures, automation, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineering methodologies.

  • Monitor platform performance, reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and effective communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Contribute to technology strategy, platform modernization efforts, and long-term architectural planning.

Requirements

  • Proven experience implementing, supporting, or leading development efforts on the iPipeline IFS platform.

  • Experience leading technical teams and collaborating across engineering, product, business, and operational stakeholders.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership, solution delivery, or software engineering leadership roles.

  • Experience working with Microsoft technologies, SQL Server databases, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise application development frameworks.

  • Experience designing and developing service-oriented architectures and applying software design, refactoring, and testing best practices.

Preferences

  • 8+ years of experience working with a combination of .NET, JavaScript, SQL Server, Git, Visual Studio, and related development technologies.

  • Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application architectures.

  • Experience supporting payment processing, money movement, financial services, or workflow automation platforms.

  • Experience integrating with platforms such as BetaNXT, Bottomline, GIACT, SmartyStreets, or similar financial technology solutions.

  • Experience with responsive web design, CSS, Semantic HTML, and modern front-end frameworks.


 

Pay Range:

$155,300.00 - $258,800.00
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
