Position Summary:
The Platform Engineer serves as the technical owner and executor for ERP integrations, with a primary focus on Infor M3 / CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise (CSDe) and Infor OS. This role is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and scaling integrations that connect the ERP platform with digital channels, partners, and downstream systems.
This position operates within a governed ERP transformation environment and plays a critical role in translating approved business and technical requirements into stable, secure, and scalable integration solutions. The Platform Engineer is a hands‑on expert technical role, while also contributing to platform standards, knowledge sharing and training teams, and the long‑term sustainability of Vallen’s integration capability
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical owner for Infor OS and ERP integration components, ensuring platform stability, performance, and reliability.
- Design, build, and maintain integrations between Infor M3 / CSDe and connected systems using BODs, APIs, and event‑driven messaging patterns.
- Support integrations across key business domains including order‑to‑cash, procure‑to‑pay, inventory, logistics, and finance.
- Execute platform and integration changes approved through formal intake, governance, and change‑control processes.
- Translate functional and business requirements into scalable, reliable technical integration solutions.
- Support and manage integrations across multiple ERP environments (DEV, TST, TRN, PRD), including controlled deployments and promotions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration and production issues, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain integration standards, patterns, naming conventions, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with ERP functional leads, digital integration teams, legacy system owners, and enterprise architecture partners.
- Participate in solution design reviews, release planning, testing cycles, and go‑live readiness activities.
- Mentor and enable additional developers or technical resources, contributing to the development of internal Infor OS and integration capability.
- Promote operational resilience through logging, monitoring, alerting, and recovery practices.
- Recommend process and system improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate requirements, impacts, and outcomes effectively.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience considered.
- 7+ years of experience in ERP integration, middleware, or enterprise application engineering roles.
- Hands‑on experience integrating Infor M3 or Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise (CSDe) in a production environment strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Infor OS, including ION, MEC, BODs, APIs, workflows, or comparable integration platforms.
- Experience designing and supporting event‑driven, message‑based, or service‑oriented integrations.
- Experience supporting production integrations in a multi‑environment ERP landscape.
- Experience working within governed ERP transformation, modernization, or cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience mentoring junior developers or enabling business technologists preferred.
- Infor, middleware, or cloud platform certifications preferred but not required.
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Infor M3 application architecture, core modules, and end‑to‑end transaction flows.
- ERP data structures, master data concepts, and cross‑module dependencies.
- Infor OS capabilities, including ION workflows, MEC, BOD lifecycle management, APIs, monitoring, and error handling.
- Enterprise integration patterns, middleware architectures, and system orchestration concepts.
- Design and implementation of scalable, resilient integrations with appropriate security, logging, and recovery mechanisms.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Experience with release management, environment promotion, and change‑control practices.
- Ability to produce clear technical designs, data mappings, and operational documentation.
- Strong collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams, including ERP, digital, and business stakeholders.
- Clear, concise communication that supports alignment across diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a complex, evolving environment.
- Self‑starter who demonstrates accountability, execution discipline, and follow‑through.
- Commitment to knowledge sharing, mentoring, and reducing single‑point‑of‑failure dependencies.
