Macmillan Learning is seeking a Physics Content Developer to support the creation of digital learning materials. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in physics and strong pedagogical insight to develop content that is accurate, engaging, and accessible to students at all proficiency levels. In this role, the Physics Content Developer will author lab procedures and pre-lab materials, design clear and effective physics questions with solutions, and review content for accuracy, clarity, and instructional value. The position also involves providing constructive feedback to peers and contractors, ensuring that all materials meet the highest standards of clarity, precision, and educational effectiveness.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and author physics lab content to be used with the iOLab platform.
  • Write clear, pedagogically sound questions and solutions of varying difficulty.
  • Design hints and feedback that anticipate common student errors, diagnose misconceptions, and guide learners toward understanding.
  • Review and edit digital content for scientific accuracy, clarity, and grammar.
  • Provide constructive feedback to contractors and collaborators to maintain content quality.
  • Create concise, accurate solutions to accompany questions and instructional materials.
  • Enter and manage content (procedures, questions, hints, solutions, and feedback) in the software platform.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge base in Physics.
  • Experience teaching physics at the secondary or post-secondary level.
  • Experience writing physics-related instructional or assessment content.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new software and digital tools.

Education Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in Physics; PhD in progress will be considered

Pay Rate: $30 - 35/hour, depending on experience

Hours: 10-15 hours per week

Assignment Duration: 3 to 4months, depending on project needs

Location: Remote
