Towne Insurance is hiring a Personal Lines Sales Manager to lead our Carolinas team. This position can be located in Greensboro, Raleigh, or Charlotte offices. The Personal Lines Sales Manager will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to drive sales performance, business growth, and operational excellence. The position champions innovative solutions, including digital tools, automation, and alternative sales delivery options to enhance and modernize the client’s experience.

About the Role

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of sales professionals through effective coaching, training, performance management, and pipeline oversight.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate, and build out the personal lines sales team to achieve growth and retention.
  • Optimize team structure, workflows, and processes to support scalable new business growth, including talent acquisition and employee development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the agency’s personal lines portfolio through both traditional and digital channels.
  • Establish and promote a multi-line sales culture, strengthening strategic partnerships, particularly with our banking partners, to maximize cross-sell opportunities.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership and key stakeholders to align on growth objectives and deliver consistent high-impact growth.
  • Identify areas for process and systems innovation and implement changes to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of our sales operation.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to maintain and strengthen key carrier relationships critical to our retention and long-term success.
  • Monitor sales metrics and KPI’s such as conversion rates and customer satisfaction, to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate regular personal lines sales meetings/conference calls comprised of sales team members and various managers across the organizational footprint to drive increased sales and identify/resolve workflow issues/opportunities to achieve best-in-class results. Disseminate information to participants or staff as needed.
  • Achieve target new business and written premium revenue targets as set by the Executive Leadership Team as part of the annual planning process.
  • Champion the adoption of digital tools and automation to modernize the customer experience.
  • Travel and market visibility are expected. 

    Skills and experience you’ll need:

    A successful candidate will have an active Property and Casualty license as well as the following:

    • At least 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. 
    • At least 5 years of experience in Personal Lines products, services, and market dynamics.  
    • Knowledge of how products and services impact client needs and develop processes to improve quality.
    • Strong initiative, leadership, and strategic thinking abilities
    • Ability to operate effectively and independently with all levels of the organization.
    • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong, lasting relationships.
    • Ability to be a self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

        Bonus points if you have:

        • Previous management experience
        • Previous working knowledge of Insurance Agency Management software programs, preferably Applied Epic.
