What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team on affordable housing transactions, including deals involving LIHTC, HUD loans, tax-exempt bonds, and more. You’ll be an integral part of the transaction process from start to finish, working closely with our attorneys, outside counsel, and internal teams to get deals done efficiently and accurately.
This is a mid-level hybrid role based in our Midtown NYC office, with three in-office days per week.
What You’ll Do
You’ll support all aspects of the deal cycle, including:
- Managing entity formation, qualifications, and corporate upkeep (e.g., organizational documents, reinstatements)
- Coordinating due diligence (ordering certs/searches, managing timelines, following up)
- Tracking key deal milestones and communicating updates to attorneys and stakeholders
- Preparing signature page packets and coordinating execution across parties
- Attending deal closings and supporting post-closing processes (e.g., binder prep, indices)
- Collaborating with external parties and vendors to finalize deliverables
- Conducting legal and factual research using general and specialized tools
- Supporting the broader legal team with special projects and cross-functional initiatives
What You Bring
We’re looking for a resourceful, detail-driven legal partner who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment:
- 3+ years of paralegal experience in a corporate setting (law firm and/or in-house)
- Experience coordinating complex deal closings across multiple stakeholders
- Strong project management skills—able to juggle tasks, track progress, and stay ahead of deadlines
- High attention to detail with excellent drafting and proofreading skills
- Professionalism and maturity in communicating with counsel, executives, and third parties
- A collaborative spirit and a commitment to work that improves lives
- A Plus: Experience with real estate transactions
Why you’ll thrive in this role:
- Purpose-driven work: Every deal you close helps create affordable housing and strengthen communities.
- Tight-knit legal team: You'll work with experienced, collaborative colleagues who support your growth.
- Visibility and impact: You’re not just a number here. You’ll work directly with decision-makers and see tangible results from your work in major transactions.
- Balanced flexibility: Hybrid schedule, clear expectations, and realistic workloads.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences—even if you don’t meet every qualification listed. If this role excites you and you bring relevant experience, we encourage you to apply.
