Role Purpose
The Site Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of site production, warehousing, and shipping activities. This role provides hands-on floor leadership, production scheduling coordination, inventory and administrative oversight, and acts as the primary site authority in the absence of site management. The position ensures alignment with Brenntag’s Core Values, regulatory obligations, and operational excellence standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality & ComplianceEnsures safety is the first priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) management systems, regulatory requirements, and corporate and local policies.
Maintains a safe work environment at all times and reports unsafe conditions immediately to Site Management.
Supports and follows Brenntag’s ‘Job 7’ product shipment best practices and compliance initiatives.
Demonstrates Brenntag’s Core Values and the Brenntag Way in all aspects of business conduct.
Supervises production and warehouse employee activities during assigned shifts to meet production targets and customer requirements safely and efficiently.
Plans and communicates raw material and packaging requirements to the designated Product Coordinator to support plant processes.
With Site Management approval, schedules site production in accordance with sales orders and operational priorities.
Coordinates the timely movement and shipment of products.
Supports production order scheduling and responds to unplanned or priority changes.
Provides floor management, daily communication, and real-time operational coordination.
Leads, motivates, and develops a high-performing site team with Site Management.
Participates in the selection, onboarding, evaluation, and ongoing training of site employees.
Adjusts and posts employee schedules to meet production requirements, including unplanned demand with Site Management.
Coordinates overtime with Site Management
Acts as the primary supervisory delegate when Site Management is absent.
Supports management of and accounts for inventory, including initiating cycle counts and inventory adjustments as required.
Oversees effective utilization and management of the site tote fleet.
Assists in maintaining plant assets, housekeeping standards, and safe working conditions.
Conducts daily data analysis to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Provides recommendations on systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, safety, and employee effectiveness.
Supports Operations administrative staff with clerical duties and ERP (SAP) system transactions.
Completes assigned administrative tasks and special projects from Site Management.
Maintains accurate records and supports production, inventory, and compliance systems.
Technical Competencies & Qualifications
EducationSecondary School Education required
College Diploma in Chemistry, Business, or a related field preferred
3+ years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or production environment
2+ years of experience in production scheduling within a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
Experience in chemical manufacturing or distribution environments considered an asset
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
ERP system experience preferred (SAP an asset)
Exposure to compliance systems (e.g., CompliantPro) beneficial
Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal regulations related to chemical manufacturing/distribution
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
High attention to detail and operational discipline
Ability to prioritize, adapt, and manage change in a fast-paced environment
