Job Description

We are currently looking for an Operations Regulatory Reporting Investigator to join our growing Operations team! As Operations Regulatory Reporting Investigator, you will report directly to the Program Manager. You will be a key contributor in ensuring compliance with Federal Communication Commission (FCC) and State Public Service Commission (PUC) regulations regarding network outage reporting and governance processes. This position will work within the Network Operations team and will support Legal and Government Affairs in order to ensure Brightspeed’s adherence to federal and state reporting mandates.

As Operations Regulatory Reporting Investigator, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing initial and final outage reports for entry into FCC Network Outage Reporting System
  • Preparing network reliability incident reports
  • Analyzing FCC outage reports for reoccurring failures
  • Reportable incident data analysis using internal ticketing systems
  • Creating outage summaries from special requests received from the FCC Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) and State Regulatory agencies
  • Coordinating and Creating E911 customer outage summaries
  • FCC and State PUC mandated reporting compliance with attestation responsibilities
  • Federal/State PUC, Regulatory, and Legal SME for network reliability and outage management
  • FCC Part 4/State mandated outage tracking, validation, reporting, and processing
  • Implementing policy guidelines for FCC Part 4 and State network outage reporting
  • Reviewing FCC reporting center process changes for impact on FCC/State mandated reporting
  • Utilizing Brightspeed’s Government Reporting System

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE

  • Bachelor’s degree Telecom, Operations Leadership, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of multidisciplinary experience, preferably in the Telecommunication Industry
  • Technical knowledge of Network Equipment and Systems
  • Ability to present information to executive management
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and work within and meet deadlines
  • Proven skills and business acumen within a large organization
  • Previous experience working with multifunctional teams
  • Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • 5+ years telecom operations experience
  • Established track record in managing complex processes and driving results
  • Experience working with Federal and State Government Agencies
  • Experience working with internal legal and government affairs personnel on complex outage scenarios
