We are inviting Mercer Colleagues to consider and apply for a position on the Operational Solutions Team, reporting to the Head of Operational Solutions within Mercer Investment Solutions Business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior candidate to support one of Mercer’s largest and most rapidly-growing business areas – investment solutions. Mercer's Investment Solutions (IS) business provides sophisticated implementation and investment services to clients. The business has grown rapidly over recent years with $400bn of client assets now under management globally, c.$160bn of which is invested on behalf of international investors. Our Investor base is institutional and typically clients are DB/DC Pension Schemes, however, the business is expanding into new segments including Insurance & Wealth Management.

The role will be multi-faceted, fluid and have a heavy technology focus. It will require an individual that has a diverse background across the Asset Management/Funds Industry and is able to demonstrate a mix of skills/experience across all areas of Fund Operations, a variety of Fund Structures, Project Management and knowledge of end-to-end Product implementation and a solid understanding of regulatory and legal structures in relation to the Irish funds industry. Above all, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of adopting a collaborative, solutions-based approach in their previous roles.

We will count on you to:

  • Independently manage complex operational projects and enhancements in a solutioning and/or implementation capacity
  • Identify process enhancements and assist with the scoping, design and implementation, for both in-house developments and external vendors
  • Lead operational workstreams, managing multiple operational teams, as part of larger complex projects and strategic initiatives
  • Support the wider Operations Team with complex change, development and implementation of operational efficiencies and business optimization
  • Take a holistic approach to initiatives being supported, understanding and considering inherent operational and reputational risks in a fund and the operational control environment required to manage these risks
  • Manage key internal stakeholders including portfolio management, client service, legal & compliance, operations, finance and technology colleagues
  • Manage key external stakeholders, including outsourced service providers, holding them accountable for SLAs, whilst maintaining and developing good relationships
  • Work regularly across team boundaries to deliver results on Operations Team and Business initiatives, developing strong working relationships

What you need to have:

  • Extensive Funds or Asset Management experience within a leading Administrator and/or Fund Manager (minimum 8 years’ experience)
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Keen interest in adopting a solutions-based approach to work, with the confidence to test and challenge legacy processes and lead constructive discussions between multiple parties
  • Take a holistic approach to and view of projects, ensuring critical decisions are considered from the perspective of all impacted stakeholders
  • Confidence in decision making, managing uncertainty effectively, anticipating and resolving barriers to change and instilling Mercer philosophy and culture into all practices
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to deadlines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic high performing team, supporting and collaborating with your team colleagues while leading, driving and managing your own tasks and projects.
