RapidScale is seeking a Network Cloud Engineer who will be a key member of the Architecture organization, responsible for the design, stability, and evolution of our multi-tenant cloud network infrastructure. This role focuses on building, scaling, and optimizing LAN and WAN environments across RapidScale data centers and customer platforms.
This position is open across Level II, Senior, and Lead levels, with leveling determined based on experience, technical depth, and ability to design and operate complex network environments.
You will partner closely with Architecture, Operations, and Security teams to ensure our cloud network is secure, resilient, and high performing, while supporting both internal platforms and customer environments.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $101,500.00 - $169,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

- Design, implement, and optimize network infrastructure across RapidScale's cloud platforms and data centers
- Maintain and enhance LAN and WAN environments to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
- Configure and manage core network components including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
- Execute network changes to improve security posture, connectivity, and overall platform performance
- Support multi-tenant cloud environments, ensuring consistency and standardization across customer deployments
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and utilization, proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network incidents across internal and customer environments
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Architecture, Security, and Operations to deliver network solutions
- Coordinate with carriers for circuit provisioning, maintenance, and issue resolution
- Drive initiatives that reduce defects, improve uptime, and enhance overall platform stability
- Develop and maintain clear, accurate network documentation and standards
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers (Senior/Lead levels)
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements (Level-Based)
Level II Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2+ years of experience in a related field
- OR a master's degree with up to 2 years of experience
- OR 6+ years of relevant professional experience
- Foundational experience supporting enterprise network environments
Senior Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4+ years of experience
- OR a master's degree with 2+ years of experience
- OR 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong experience designing and supporting network infrastructure across enterprise or data center environments
Lead Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6+ years of experience
- OR a master's degree with 4+ years of experience
- OR 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Proven ability to design, scale, and lead network initiatives across complex, multi-site or cloud environments
Core Experience (All Levels)
- Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure across enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
- Experience with network technologies from vendors such as Arista, Cisco, and Fortinet
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and HSRP
- Experience supporting multi-site or data center network environments
- Familiarity with VPN technologies and secure connectivity design
- Experience with network monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex network environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with VMware technologies including vSphere, NSX, and VMware Cloud Director
- Exposure to optical transport networks
- Experience supporting multi-tenant or managed cloud environments
- Familiarity with RapidScale platforms and network architecture
