Job Description

Fortune Brands is building a company that is determined to win, and for Larson/Therma-Tru a great deal of that runs through Lowe's. It is the Outdoors division's largest and most strategically important customer. This role owns it.

As National Account Manager you are, in practice, the general manager of your assigned brand business at Lowe's. You own the top line, the share and the profitability. You own the relationships with Lowe's merchants and decision makers. And you own the growth agenda: finding the opportunities, building the business case, and getting it executed across product, marketing, supply chain, finance and field sales.

You will do all of that without direct authority over most of the people who have to deliver it, which is the hard part of the job and the interesting part. The role is based in Mooresville, North Carolina, which puts you where the customer is.

How we win here is not complicated. Execute every day. Be accountable. Do what needs to be done.

POSITION LOCATION/TRAVEL: This is a hybrid role based in Mooresville, NC. Travel is expected to be approximately 10–20% and may include visits to customers, manufacturing plants, industry events, and other business-related meetings or activities.

What You'll Do

  • Own the assigned brand business at Lowe's, including the top line sales, share and profitability objectives.
  • Develop and execute the strategic growth plan for Lowe's, finding and driving the opportunities that move revenue and market share.
  • Build and hold strong relationships with Lowe's merchants and key decision makers.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute growth initiatives across product, marketing, supply chain, finance and field sales.
  • Use your business acumen to influence decisions internally and externally, without direct authority over the people making them.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, investments, promotional funding, markdowns and profitability improvement.
  • Turn customer and market insight into recommendations that create real value for both Lowe's and Fortune Brands Innovations.
  • Run several projects at once with clear accountability, delivering what you committed to on time.
  • Work with urgency and ownership and keep improving how the business runs for our largest and most strategic customer.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive sales or national account management experience, including direct experience managing or supporting Lowe’s or a comparable large national retail customer.
  • Experience in millwork/building products or related durable goods categories.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising organization, customer planning processes, and retail environment.
  • Experience developing account strategies and leading business reviews, assortment planning, promotions, and customer negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience using sales, POS, inventory, and category data to identify opportunities and drive profitable growth.
  • Proven ability to build strategic customer relationships and influence stakeholders across customer and internal organizations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10–15%.

Nice to Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Sales or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in merchandising, channel marketing or product marketing.
  • Background generating and negotiating pull-through programs, managing and growing builder relationships, or working with multi-step distribution.
  • A track record of growing sales and delivering results.
