BR+A is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will be well organized, show professional initiative, and be able to take ownership of assignments, performing well both independently and as part of the project team. A strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is necessary, and the role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop sections and elevations of complex ductwork and piping areas;
  • Respond to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittals;
  • Functional working knowledge of mechanical systems, as well as systems design & construction processes;
  • The ability to work directly with Architects/Owners/Construction Manager Representatives in a hands-on training role for the functional understanding of systems;
  • Understand work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan;
  • Understand the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and deliver appropriate documentation;
  • Modify sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems;
  • Understand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly applies equipment.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a focus on Healthcare projects
  • Excellent Organizational and Communication skills;
  • Proactive and Collaborative team member;
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) License is a plus.
