Job Description

  • Leading the warehouse to build and maintain a culture of safety.  This includes communicating near misses, following up on near miss action items, performing safety audits and participating on the Plant Health & Safety Review board.  Leadership of safety subcommittees is expected.
  • Monitor material flow and adjust work force accordingly. Ensure job rotation occurs to provide a flexible workforce.
  • Ensure that all material is properly verified, picked, put away, and confirmed in accordance with the warehouse metrics.
  • Perform audits to ensure proper management of inventory and conformance to standard procedures.
  • Communicate in shift turnover meetings to ensure that each shift has been properly informed of plans pertinent to efficient warehouse operations and material flow.
  • Know and possess the ability to perform all of the standard procedures related to the material attendant job.
  • Ensure new associates are trained in accordance with written procedures. Monitor the training progress of all new associates and report to Warehouse Managers. 
  • Participate in monthly safety program activities. Maintain housekeeping standards in the Warehouse. 
  • Provide leadership through coaching, counseling and feedback to associates to continuously improve performance, address issues and discipline when needed.

Qualifications

  • Associates must not have been awarded a job through a posting in the previous six (6) months.  (Exceptions to the 6-month time limit may be considered if circumstances beyond the control of the associate caused a shift change or demotion or based on business needs. In addition, associates seeking a higher labor grade may apply without waiting 6 months.)
  • Associates can have no written disciplinary warnings within six (6) months of the posting date.
  • Associates cannot have less than 17 UTO hours.
  • Associates must be able to work 8+ hours per day and 40+ hours per week.
  • Associates must meet all the minimum qualifications outlined on the job bid.
  • Associates selected will receive the necessary training to perform the requirements of this position, to include processes and computer requirements.
  • A 90-day probationary period applies to all job postings.
