About SafeLease

At SafeLease, we're rethinking how P&C insurance is sold in an age of technological change. We believe the industry's biggest inefficiencies aren't technical problems — they're structural ones. And we're building the team to tackle them.

SafeLease is a profitable insurance business that designs, underwrites, and distributes specialty coverage for commercial property owners and their tenants. Most insurance companies either distribute products or bear the risk — we do both. We back our policies with our own capital, which means we control the full stack: product design, tech, and the speed at which we move. That end-to-end ownership lets us offer customers real flexibility, saving time and money for more than 4,000 properties insured for billions in value nationwide.

We're a team of 85, growing over 100% annually, and we've done it without sacrificing profitability or culture. Here, you'll get high discretion and a wide aperture of problems to solve. We embrace the newest technologies, move fast together, and operate with the intensity of a small company where every person's work is visible. If you're looking for a place to sharpen your craft alongside people who take their work seriously, you'll fit right in.

About the role

We are looking for an Events & Social Media Marketing Specialist to run two connected programs: our trade show and event presence, and our social media across every brand in the portfolio.

This is a hands-on execution role on a small team. You will manage the event calendar, execute our presence on site, and maintain an active, consistent voice across our brands on social. Marketing leadership sets strategy and budget; this role executes against both and reports on results.

This is a strong fit for someone who is highly organized, thrives on a fast-moving calendar, and takes pride in well-executed programs across multiple brands.

What you will do

Events and trade shows

• Maintain the trade show and event calendar across all SafeLease-affiliated brands, tracking deadlines for booth space, speaking proposals, sponsorships, and registration
• Maintain event documentation and project tracking in Notion, keeping status current and accessible to the wider team
• Run end-to-end event logistics, including booth space, shipping, freight, hotel blocks, travel, staffing, setup, and teardown
• Coordinate vendors, including booth fabricators, printers, promotional suppliers, and show services
• Track association speaking and roundtable submission deadlines, which typically close six or more months ahead of an event, and prepare submissions for review
• Attend events in person and staff our presence on the ground
• Execute lead capture at each show, ensuring leads are captured accurately and routed to sales promptly
• Track results for every event, including leads captured, cost per lead, and spend against budget
• Deliver a post-event recap for each show summarizing performance and takeaways
• Track event spend against budgets set by the SVP of Marketing and flag variance early
• Source and order swag and promotional items, manage inventory, and keep everything consistent with brand standards
• Design event collateral and booth graphics, or prepare files for outside vendors, working within established brand standards

Social media

• Run day-to-day organic social across all SafeLease-affiliated brands, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging channels
• Build and maintain the content calendar and write and schedule posts
• Adapt voice and content to each brand and audience, whether we are speaking to insurance agents, facility operators, or consumers
• Design and produce content, including graphics, short-form video, photography from events, and customer and partner stories
• Manage community engagement, including monitoring and responding to comments and messages, and escalating as appropriate
• Support paid social in partnership with the broader marketing team
• Report monthly on social performance, including reach, engagement, follower growth, and traffic
• Monitor competitor activity and industry conversation and share relevant findings with the team
• Support employee advocacy and executive presence on LinkedIn

Communications

• Write and send event-related email campaigns, including pre-show outreach, meeting invitations, and post-show follow-up
• Partner with sales on pre-show target lists and post-show handoff

Must Haves

• 2 to 4 years of marketing experience, with hands-on experience supporting events or trade shows
• Experience running social media for at least one brand
• Hands-on graphic design experience, with a portfolio of work produced for social, print, or event use
• Comfortable designing in Canva or equivalent tools
• Strong project management skills, including managing long lead times and overlapping deadlines across concurrent events
• Comfort working with budgets and performance data and reporting results clearly
• Strong writing skills across formats, including social copy, email campaigns, and vendor and partner correspondence
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%, concentrated during event season and including occasional weekends
• Self-directed, with the ability to own programs independently in a small-team environment

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance, insurtech, proptech, or self-storage
• Familiarity with Notion, HubSpot, Canva, and social scheduling platforms
• Experience marketing to independent insurance agents or a distribution channel
• Comfort with video editing and short-form video production
• Comfortable using AI tools to work faster
