The Manager of Global Change Enablement is an excellent “incubator” role to learn more about Vanguard and explore additional career paths within IT or in support of our Sub-Divisions.  You will have the chance to learn about many different applications and systems and will build relationships that will benefit your career at Vanguard and beyond.  For anyone who is interested in a career leading initiatives and teams in IT Service Management, Software Development, Data Center Management, or Digital Transformation, this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Leads and evolves the Change Enablement process for both legacy and cloud-native systems, prioritizing production readiness and operational resiliency.

  • Maintains an integrated change calendar, proactively identify risks and dependencies, and manage change activities to minimize disruption.

  • Oversees change reviews, approvals, and compliance, ensuring changes are planned, tested, and executed to deliver desired outcomes while maintaining stability.

  • Chairs divisional and cross-divisional Change Advisory Boards, facilitating effective decision-making and risk escalation.

  • Collaborates with Release and IT Project Managers on readiness reviews, tollgates, and go/no-go decisions, engaging stakeholders across development, assurance, security, and leadership.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, chaos testing, event monitoring) to enhance resiliency and operational excellence.

  • Fosters a culture of thought leadership, challenging existing practices and advocating for innovative solutions to evolving business and IT needs.

  • Acts as a focal point for escalation and communication, ensuring efficient execution and transparent reporting of change activities.

  • Develops and maintains change knowledge resources and participate in post-mortem reviews to strengthen future readiness.

  • Supports connected ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, Configuration, Release, and Service Validation & Testing.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years of managing a project preferred. Financial Services or technical experience preferred. Previous people-leadership experience preferred.

  • Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required. Graduate degree preferred.

  • 2–5 years in technology operations leadership.

  • ITILv4 Foundations Certification preferred.

  • Experience in high-velocity IT environments, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD tools (AWS, Azure, GitHub, Jira, Confluence).

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, virtualization, security, cloud models, and technological change.

  • Proficiency with project/task management tools (Jira, ServiceNow).

  • Exceptional communication, active listening, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proven ability to influence, solve problems, and drive toward common goals in a global, matrixed organization.
