The Managed Accounts Sales Consultant position is an internal sales position with the primary responsibility of using technical platform and sales expertise to increase sales and net flows into our advisory programs. The Sales Consultant will work with advisors and key staff members on developing investment strategies, advising on product rules/regulations, and consulting on appropriate solutions via outbound calls to Ameriprise advisors. In addition, this role will assist and support territory business planning, sales campaigns, EAR VIP Events, field leader initiatives, and other ad-hoc items as needed to support the region.

• Select Separate Accounts

• Select ETF Portfolios

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively conducting outbound calls to advisors in assigned region
  • Ensure a high level of advisor satisfaction by responding to inbound calls and emails from advisors to provide technical expertise on sales strategies, product rules/regulations, and solutions to drive advisory sales.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with product partners, IRG, and regional team. This role will also work closely with the other internal sales desks and internal business partners to support client/advisor needs.
  • Accurately track all activity in Salesforce.com and track/submit all business expenses in Concur Expense Management system.
  • Utilize Microsoft Teams for advisor sales interactions.
  • Provide support and participate in advisor/client presentations and field facing events as required.
  • In partnership with WMS RVP, travel within region as required to participate in one-on-one advisor sales calls, client events, and/or to deliver group presentations.
  • Complete required coursework to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and licenses.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services industry, financial sales, or financial wholesaling with proven phone skills
  • Active Series 7 and Series 63 & 65 (or Series 66) or the ability to obtain within 120 days
  • Deep understanding of advisory platform: (i.e. Active Portfolios, Signature Wealth, SPS Advantage, SPS Advisor, Separate Accounts, Strategist UMA, etc.)
  • Overnight travel required up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFP, CRPC, APMA, ChFC designations preferred (or strong desire to achieve)
  • Experience as a financial planner, financial advisor, or investment broker
  • Experience with Ameriprise Financial product suite
  • Knowledge of the Ameriprise field structure
  • Proven ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly
  • Demonstrated sales and coaching experience and understanding of the wholesaling process
  • Must be open to Quality Sales Call coaching
  • Independent self-starter with strong teamwork orientation and relationship skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong presentation skills using MS Teams
  • Must have a clean compliance record

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $70,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
