Under direct supervision, this position will support the loss investigation process and report obtained information in a timely and efficient manner. This role will support all types of losses for investigations during or after hours.
- Conduct on-site investigations of claims/accident or fixed-site inspection of damages including, but not limited to insureds and those most knowledgeable about the claim, law enforcement, taking photographs, obtaining official reports, gathering details of event and documenting parties involved.
- Provide documentation, photos, diagrams, and video as needed.
- Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information required by client and by Crawford. Provide report for Crawford Licensed Adjuster to handle claim/accident (for transportation, provide report within 8 hours).
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from an accident scene, a good quality camera, and the ability to transmit reports and photos via the internet.
- Provide prompt customer service to clients, insured, claimants, etc.
- Escalate incidents or calls, as necessary, to other parties for resolution.
- Ensure correct documents are attached where appropriate.
- Assist management with reports or provide reports as needed.
- Work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
- Position requires the ability to capture photos and use of internet.
- Work week is variable and will include on-call back-up scheduling.
- Maintain company reputation and integrity of insurance products by complying with federal and state regulations and service standards.
- Uphold the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.
- High school diploma; GED or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must complete and pass Crawford specified training for placement on assignments.
- Ability to operate a camera, computer and/or office technology.
- Transportation positions: previous experience as a Casualty Claims Adjuster is preferred and in/with law enforcement or public service is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Good diplomacy skills and able to reason in difficult situations.
- Physical ability to crouch, reach and lift heavy objects.
- Must possess strong customer service skills.
- May be required to work beyond shift and/or normal business hours when necessary. Work week is variable and will include on-call scheduling.
- A variable schedule including on-call may be required. Depending on case load you may be required to work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
- Travel may be required during/outside of normal business hours when necessary.
