Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Lead Platform Quality Engineer will report to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering in First Dollar. This role is responsible for defining and driving the organization's quality vision and leading software quality initiatives throughout the product lifecycle for both front-end and back-end system components. The Lead Platform Quality Engineer is driving and implementing test automation frameworks, processes, and strategies. As well as leading the adoption of industry-standard quality practices while fostering a culture of quality across the organization.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Lead Platform Quality Engineer will report to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering in First Dollar. This role is responsible for defining and driving the organization's quality vision and leading software quality initiatives throughout the product lifecycle for both front-end and back-end system components. The Lead Platform Quality Engineer is driving and implementing test automation frameworks, processes, and strategies. As well as leading the adoption of industry-standard quality practices while fostering a culture of quality across the organization.
- Define and drive quality metrics, quality gates, and acceptance criteria for projects to align with business objectives
- Establish and continuously improve quality standards, tooling, and processes across teams and projects
- Build and foster a strong quality culture across the organization, including skill gap analysis, career pathing, and targeted development for QE team members
- Share knowledge and mentor other team members, ensuring the QE team's skills evolve to meet business needs
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and leadership teams to influence product decisions, challenge requirements, and ensure quality is considered throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Design test cases and execute all types of testing (e.g. functional, integration, end-to-end) on a variety of platforms (e.g. mobile, web)
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing
- Drive automated testing initiatives across different layers of the application (frontend, backend, data, infrastructure)
- Contribute to various elements of automated testing across different layers of the application (frontend, backend, data)
- Produce test estimates for testing activities and ensure alignment with project goals
- Participate in code and test case reviews and ensure requirements traceability & proper coverage
- Assist project team in determining appropriate quality goals and acceptance criteria
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in Software QE with at least three years as a Test Lead or Manager. Experience should extend across both manual and automated testing in a variety of Agile delivery models
- 5+ years of professional coding experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, or Java with hands-on coding expected for automation and tooling development
- 5+ years of UI Test automation experience (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Experience defining and implementing quality metrics, quality gates, and organizational quality standards
- Diverse experiences in leading test strategy, test planning, test case design, and execution
- Delivery leadership within Agile methodology projects (e.g. Scrum)
- Proficiency using common test management tools
- Proven experience across manual and automated testing in a variety of Agile delivery models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
