About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst within CIB Markets Finance, reporting into Markets Financial Planning & Analysis / Modeling. This role leads the development and implementation of finance strategy across CIB Markets and is responsible for managing forecasts and budgets to achieve business goals, improve efficiency, and strengthen governance through effective cross-functional partnership, influence, and alignment. In this role, you will:
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting processes.
  • Support CCAR, stress testing, capital planning, scenario analysis, and balance sheet forecasting activities.
  • Provide actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior executives.
  • Analyze business performance relative to internal goals, capital targets, and external peer benchmarks.
  • Lead finance transformation and strategic initiatives that improve forecasting, reporting, controls, and decision support processes.
  • Evaluate complex financial, economic, and operational issues and provide technical expertise to influence decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting that meets internal control, policy, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Build trusted partnerships across Markets, CIB Finance, Risk, Treasury, Investor Relations, and Strategy functions.
  • Influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional efforts to resolve complex issues and achieve strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related field; strong business acumen in financial services (particularly banking).
  • Highly motivated, self-starting team player accustomed to working in complex organizations, partnering with diverse stakeholders, and delivering results.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy; ability to synthesize complex data and communicate clear insights and recommendations.
  • Prior experience with balance sheet and/or income statement forecasting; knowledge of asset, liability, and/or liquidity management concepts.
  • Markets product knowledge and ability to quickly learn complex instruments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including advanced Excel (Index/Match, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Experience with data and analytics tools such as Essbase, Python, and/or Tableau.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including comfort presenting forecast outcomes to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in an ever-changing environment; exercises independent judgment and collaborates to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience with monthly closing, developing financial projections, and establishing goals.
