What to expect in this role

We are seeking an Engineering Lead to direct our software development initiatives within the BFSI sector. This pivotal role involves both active coding (50-70% of your time) and leadership responsibilities, overseeing the modernization of our customers’ legacy systems and the adoption of new technologies. The ideal candidate is a versatile developer comfortable with multiple programming languages and experienced in leading diverse teams.

  • Lead development efforts, writing code and reviewing code written by others to ensure it meets industry standards.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, providing guidance and feedback to help them grow professionally.

  • Manage and optimize various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and understand caching and basic networking to improve application performance.

  • Drive the migration and integration of cloud-based solutions and infrastructures.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering projects with broader company goals, particularly within the payments sphere.

  • Prioritize tasks and manage team resources to meet project deadlines and budget targets.

Requirements and technical skills

  • Extensive programming experience, with a willingness to adapt and learn new languages as project needs dictate.

  • Strong background in managing both relational and non-relational databases, caching, and fundamental networking concepts.

  • Demonstrated leadership in technical projects with the ability to mentor and uplift a team.

  • Solid experience in the BFSI domain, with a preference for candidates with exposure to the payments industry.

  • Practical knowledge in managing and scaling legacy systems while implementing modern solutions.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience specifically in the payments or asset management industries is highly desirable.

  • Successful track record in transitioning from monolithic architectures to more modern distributed architectures.
