Niyam is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join our team in support of our work with a federal client. We offer competitive compensation and benefits. This hybrid role will provide programmatic, technical, analytical, and administrative expertise to a federal agency to support an Environmental Management Program. This support encompasses a variety of environmental functions, including but not limited to expertise in environmental compliance, policy development, regulatory analysis and environmental auditing. . Candidate must be located in the South region, within close proximity to a major airport. This position will travel to a designated region in the south.  

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist government agency in the continued development and implementation of Environmental Program policies, procedures, and guidance
  • Perform reviews and recommend changes to Environmental Management policies, standard operating procedures, and forms
  • Review environmental compliance checklist(s) and recommend modifications to the environmental compliance checklist(s) to ensure audits performed address compliance requirements.
  • Review and assist with Environmental Program training content; Conduct training classes
  • Review state and local environmental regulations that may impact government agency operations and facilities and recommend, as necessary, modifications to the environmental compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • US Citizen with ability to obtain public trust
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmentally related field
  • At least 1 years of experience in environmental work (i.e., environmental compliance, policy development, regulatory analysis, environmental auditing)
  • Must have the ability to work independently and remain engaged with team members.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision.
  • Willing and and able to support travel (10-20%) to three states in the south to provide services to federal client. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
