We are seeking an experienced and innovative IT Tech Lead to join our dynamic Tech & Data team and spearhead the development of our next-generation reinsurance systems. The ideal candidate is a technical visionary passionate about building scalable, cloud-native solutions and advancing AI-enabled capabilities across the technology landscape. The candidate is analytically minded and a collaborative leader with a strong interest in applying AI responsibly to improve business outcomes, developer productivity, and decision-making. You will work closely with a talented team of engineers and business users across the US to guide, design, build, and deploy sophisticated applications for core reinsurance functions such as Assumed Administration, Claims, Retrocession, and Facultative Underwriting at SCOR Global Life Americas. This role will also help identify and implement opportunities to embed generative AI and intelligent automation into enterprise applications while ensuring alignment with responsible AI principles and enterprise standards. You will be handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII), which requires adherence to applicable data privacy, security, and compliance standards of respective markets.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead the architectural design and development of our core reinsurance platform on Microsoft Azure, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and resilient.
  • Full-Stack Oversight: Guide a polyglot engineering team in building robust backend services using Java/python/.Net, and creating intuitive, high-performance user interfaces with Angular or React.
  • Cloud & DevOps Excellence: Champion the use of Azure cloud services, with a strong focus on containerization and orchestration using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Apps (ACA). Drive CI/CD best practices to ensure rapid and reliable delivery.
  • AI Integration: Collaborate with data scientists to integrate and operationalize AI services into our products, unlocking new insights and capabilities for risk analysis and pricing.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Solution Owner, business analysts, and other stakeholders—including business users across the US, to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Propose and lead activities that improve processes, user experience, operational efficiency, system stability with reduced complexity 
  • Compliance & Data Protection: Oversee and ensure compliance with global and regional market based legal and other regulatory requirements, including requirements related to handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Maintain and support SCOR ICS controls, security standards, and internal/external audit requirements.
  • Problem Resolution: Lead and participate as needed in issue resolution, root cause analysis, proactive measures to support critical Life & Health operational areas
Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the Reinsurance business and/or the financial services industry is a huge plus

  • 7+ years of experience designing and delivering highly effective solutions preferably in Insurance and Financial industries.
  • Backend Proficiency: Deep expertise in either Java (Spring Boot) or .NET (C#), preferably with professional experience in both.
  • Frontend Expertise: Strong command of modern frontend development using Angular/React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Cloud Native: Proven experience designing and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure. Hands-on expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is essential.
  • Industry Knowledge: Demonstrable experience working in the insurance, reinsurance, or financial services (FinTech/InsurTech) domain.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.
  • Ability to leverage generative AI to improve developer productivity and code quality.
  • Solid understanding of responsible AI concepts such as data privacy, fairness, and explainability· Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications.

Pay Range for roles performed in KC & CLT: $162,500-$220,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including
but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance
coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
