Job Summary:
Caterpillar's Information Technology (IT) organization is looking for a Service Delivery Analyst to support and lead key vendor management activities (selecting, negotiating, terminating, purchasing/licensing contracts) for specific Caterpillar IT departments. This position is part of the Vendor Management Office (VMO) and supports IT service owners to deliver the best value third party IT products, services and solutions through improved vendor performance, optimized vendor relationships, contract management and risk management.
What You Will Do:
  • Manage the operations for the selecting, negotiating, extending, terminating, purchasing/licensing and renegotiating contracts for the acquisition of equipment, materials, products, technology and services.
  • Collaborate with business/service owners throughout the contract lifecycle to accurately develop contract forecasts and oversee processing of purchase requests for third-party IT spend.
  • Coordinate with Indirect Procurement, business owners and other key functions on sourcing methods, vendor evaluation & selection, negotiating and contract development / management.
  • Engage with business/service owners and vendors to support resolution of low and medium complexity disputes, and other matters requiring a balance of assertiveness, tact, business acumen, and diplomacy.
  • Developing and implementing processes and tools for different types of contracts, risk assessments, disputes, and issue resolutions, etc.

What You Have:
  • A 4-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Procurement, or a related field - OR equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong technical work experiences of progressively complex experiences with background in systems hardware, system software, infrastructure, professional services, applications, development methodologies, business planning, project management, and customer focused support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively bridge the gap between business, technical, and vendor teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify voice of the customer business requirements and address performance, process and quality issues.
  • Proficient in indirect commercial contract understanding with external vendors, performing analysis and documenting functional business requirements and translating them into technical specifications for the information technology teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple negotiations, revaluate and establish priorities, and effectively collaborate with multiple internal and external teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record of working with cross-functional support teams and delivering solutions that meet business needs across a diverse group of businesses.
  • Experience working with both business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver successful project deployments on time from the budget, contract and spend lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Knowledge of stakeholder management techniques; ability to identify stakeholders, analyze their needs and expectations, and implement various tasks to engage them based on their timing and budgetary needs.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Knowledge of IT vendor products and services; experience implementing processes for the evaluation and selection of products, tools, services and infrastructure components and aligning to the business support needs and principles.
  • Contracts Management: Knowledge of policies, standards and processes for the management and administration of various types of information technology specific contracts.
  • Vendor Management: Knowledge of vendor management methodologies, technologies and processes; ability to drive value from vendors, as well as cost controls, vendor risk mitigation throughout the contract life cycle.
  • Communications: Strong written and verbal communications skillset, adapting legal language, commercial terms, obligations, and support documentation that is presented to internal stakeholders for their consideration and approvals, and with vendors during negotiations.

  • The ideal location for this role is East Peoria-IL, Dallas-TX, Nashville-TN
  • This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • This position may require 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
