Job descriptionMeet Our Team:

At Hitachi Energy, we are accelerating the digital transformation of manufacturing through secure, connected, and intelligent factory operations. Our Factory IT/OT team serves as the critical bridge between enterprise IT and operational technology environments, ensuring seamless support, cybersecurity, and reliability across production facilities. As part of this team, you'll work closely with factory engineers, cybersecurity specialists, global IT teams, and business stakeholders to maintain and enhance the technology that powers our manufacturing operations.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide hands-on onsite support for factory-owned and managed IT/OT assets, ensuring reliable operation across office and manufacturing environments.
  • Deliver desk-side support for end users, including computers, collaboration tools, meeting rooms, Microsoft Teams rooms, and office technology.
  • Support and maintain shop-floor IT/OT infrastructure including kiosks, MES scanners, printers, CCTV systems, badging systems, vendor-managed equipment, and security systems.
  • Perform operational support activities for both Office IT and Factory IT/OT assets not covered by Global OSS support teams.
  • Act as the first responder for IT/OT cybersecurity incidents by investigating issues, assessing impact, and coordinating containment and remediation efforts with cybersecurity teams.
  • Monitor and identify critical factory assets requiring cybersecurity protection and operational oversight.
  • Install, deploy, and validate security patches and remediation measures on critical IT/OT systems.
  • Detect and report abnormal behavior within operational technology environments, escalating potential cybersecurity threats and unauthorized access attempts.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and external partners to ensure OT systems remain secure, properly configured, and compliant with operational standards.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives by implementing security controls and protective measures for factory-managed assets.
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories and assist with lifecycle management of IT and OT equipment.
  • Follow IT service management best practices while documenting incidents, requests, and resolutions through ServiceNow.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Formal qualification, diploma, degree, or apprenticeship in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, desktop support, field services, or factory IT environments.
  • Experience supporting Windows-based environments, Microsoft Office 365, iOS devices, and enterprise collaboration technologies.
  • Understanding of IT/OT environments, industrial systems, manufacturing technologies, or operational technology infrastructure.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity principles, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and incident response processes.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow, asset management tools, and IT service management processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and user support scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while effectively managing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
  • Fluent in English and local language communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma (L6S) certification.
  • Experience supporting MES hardware, industrial scanners, CCTV systems, access control/badging systems, or factory automation environments.
  • Familiarity with OT cybersecurity practices, industrial networks, and manufacturing operations.
