We are looking for a highly analytical and collaborative Business Analyst to join our Data Engineering team. This role blends business analysis, data reporting, and Agile product ownership to deliver data-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organization. As a key liaison between the Line of Business (LOB) and the Technology Delivery team, you will play an indirect leadership role—driving collaboration, enhancing communication, and influencing the success of various initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for data engineering and reporting initiatives.

  • Conduct business process and workflow analysis to define project and work request needs.

  • Ensure active stakeholder engagement throughout the requirements lifecycle.

  • Serve as Product Owner in Agile ceremonies, maintaining a clear, prioritized product backlog.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define and deliver high-impact data products.

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights for business users.

  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency through rigorous validation and testing.

  • Support data governance, metadata management, and adherence to data standards.

  • Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables using Agile and project management best practices.

  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide training and documentation for end users.

  • Ensure compliance with Technology and CRC Group policies, including SDLC and Change Management standards.

  • Coach and mentor junior Business Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Location: this position is 100% remote anywhere in the US.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience to include six years of information technology experience with significant experience in software development
2. Four years of experience as a business analyst or related role/experience, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Business Process Management, Relationship Management, Business Operations, Quality
3. Management Experience planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting and managing business, functional and technical requirements
4. Experience with traditional Agile methodologies

5. Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases.

6. Expertise in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.

7. Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.

8. Proven experience working in Agile teams, preferably as a Product Owner or active Scrum team member.

9. Demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate, elicit, document, and manage business, functional, and technical requirements.

10. Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities.

11. Skilled in managing multiple concurrent projects and tasks under tight deadlines.

12. Effective communication and conflict resolution across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years as a Business Analyst in data-centric environments.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

  • Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Databricks).

Certifications (preferred but not required):

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)

  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Soft Skills:

Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
