About Dexcom’s Summer Intern Program:

Looking to spend your summer working with innovative technology and changing the lives of patients with diabetes? Dexcom’s U.S. 12-week internship program provides an experience driven program aimed at developing the next generation of talent. Our onsite, hybrid, and remote work models ensure that we can invite diverse and talented intern classes from across the country. Interns will have the chance to gain knowledge and develop their skills while contributing to key company projects and initiatives. Dexcom interns have earned the nickname of “Game Changers” based on their ability to leave a lasting impact on our organization. We are excited to welcome our next class of Game Changers for summer 2025!   

 

Internship Department Details:  

  • Department Name: Software QA
  • Business Function: Quality Assurance & Regulatory
  • Team Highlights: We're constantly on the lookout for fresh ideas and innovative solutions to optimize our Quality Management System (QMS) processes while ensuring full compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971). Our team plays a key role in Software Design Assurance, focusing on product improvement, new product development, and defect prevention. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software Engineering, Data Science and Infrastructure maintenance teams. This role will give you hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment where you'll face exciting challenges and shifting priorities, all while being part of a supportive team that values collaboration, growth, and a positive attitude.

 

Where you come in:

  • You will explore and experiment with cutting-edge tools, techniques, and approaches to tackle day to day mundane activities using AI/ML solutions.
  • You will do Prompt Development: Assist in creating and refining AI-generated text prompts for a range of applications, such as chatbots and content generation.
  • You will enhance prompt engineering methods to optimize the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) for natural language processing workflows.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate AI/ML solutions into business processes and products.
  • You will test and evaluate AI/ML models to improve performance and accuracy.

 

What makes you successful:

  • You will apply your basic programming skills, particularly in Python, which is widely used in data science and machine learning.
  • You will leverage your knowledge of cloud platforms for AI/ML tasks, especially Google Cloud (GCP), along with your familiarity with tools like Gemini, Vertex-AI, and other Google services.
  • You will use your understanding of RESTful APIs to connect front-end applications with back-end systems.
  • Your proficiency in querying both MySQL and NoSQL databases
  • You will take ownership of your engineering work, communicating progress and updates effectively with both internal teams and external collaborators, both verbally and in writing.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma/certificate or equivalent. 
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Non-Exempt Salary Details:

The annualized base salary range for this role is $27.00 to $29.00. Annualized values for non-exempt (hourly) positions are estimates, final annualized salary will depend on total hours worked. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.

Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.
