The Instructional Designer & Onboarding Specialist supports Bonterra’s Sales Enablement team by designing and delivering effective learning experiences that accelerate sales team readiness. This role creates, maintains, and iterates onboarding and training programs tailored to specific sales roles and experience levels, using AI-enhanced tools and data insights to drive continuous improvement. The specialist collaborates cross-functionally with sales leaders, product marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure learning content aligns with business objectives and new hires ramp quickly and effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and deliver role-based onboarding programs that blend e-learning, workshops, videos, and playbooks using Lessonly and other instructional tools

  • Partner with sales leadership to define onboarding plans and ensure alignment with key business priorities and team objectives

  • Maintain onboarding content in the LMS, monitor learner progression, and identify points of friction or drop-off for timely resolution

  • Create instructional materials using AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and tailor content to learner needs

  • Conduct needs analysis in partnership with Enablement Operations and Sales Enablement leadership to prioritize content updates and new learning experiences

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials

  • Measure onboarding effectiveness using Salesforce, Gong, Salesloft, and other tools to refine programs based on performance trends

  • Document and update onboarding learning journeys quarterly, reflecting changes in sales processes, tools, and product offerings

  • Use gamification and modern instructional design techniques to promote learner engagement and adoption

  • Facilitate onboarding sessions or office hours as needed to provide live support and knowledge reinforcement

  • Ensure that onboarding materials are accessible, inclusive, and reflect Bonterra’s values and tone

  • Maintain accurate onboarding schedules, participation data, and completion metrics for reporting and continuous improvement

  • Ensure sales teams are trained consistently across roles and geographies

  • Contributes to performance improvement through targeted, data-driven learning design

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience designing and maintaining learning programs using LMS platforms

  • Knowledge of sales processes and learning design principles

  • Ability to synthesize complex information and create concise, learner-friendly content

  • Attention to detail and documentation best practices

  • Familiarity with instructional design tools and learning analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, sales training, or curriculum development

  • Experience with Lessonly, Articulate, Rise, or Camtasia

  • Exposure to B2B SaaS sales environments and tools such as Salesforce, Gong, Salesloft

  • Familiarity with MEDDIC, Challenger, or Sandler sales methodologies

  • Understanding of nonprofit or public sector markets a plus

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and energized by building impactful learner experiences.

Compensation

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity.

US Base Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
