Job summary:
Responsible for the assessment, analysis, design and development of learning experiences, the Instructional Designer will facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. This role will also be responsible for facilitating internal training programs and managing the 'Corporate Services' portion of the Learning portfolio of programs (HR/Organizational Development, Legal & Finance).
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Consult with various internal stakeholders to lead training needs assessment. Help to identify root causes, translate learning requirements and desired outcomes, and determine appropriate training program (may be curated or created) or other course of action, if applicable.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities which may require learning support; provide recommendations regarding prioritization of Learning portfolio.
- With input from functional/technical Subject Matter Experts, create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that amplifies employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities to meet defined learning outcomes. This may require a multi-media approach (audio, video, simulation, role play, games, virtual workshops, etc.).
- Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods. Provide supplemental materials (exercises, activities, discussion questions) to enhance the learning process and knowledge application.
- In consultation with HR Business Partners and functional Managers, decide on criteria to assess learner’s performance and develop learner assessments as needed.
- Conduct various training seminars, workshops, and programs for professional and management staff.
- Oversees, evaluates, and edits existing and proposed programs; recommends changes when appropriate.
- Develop and deliver tools to evaluate training effectiveness to ensure application of skills and techniques.
- Collaborate with Learning and HR Technology specialists on effectively utilizing the Learning Management System and provide input to the digital learning strategy and roadmap. Partner with Learning Specialist to monitor Learning data/analytics, course enrollments, course effectiveness, learning campaigns, and more.
- Manage vendor relationships as we build the network of partners or specialized content providers to meet organizational priorities for Learning.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: BS degree instructional design, educational technology or related field
Skills and Experience:
5+ years’ experience in in designing, delivering, and/or consulting on training required. Experience in design of leadership development program strongly preferred.
Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
Superior ability to conduct a thorough training needs assessment including effective communication with all levels of professionals
Lesson and curriculum planning skills
Solid knowledge of course development software, graphic design and video editing required (Articulate, Camtasia, Canva) and experience with at least one Learning Management System; Workday experience a plus
Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard required
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
*This position is preferred to work a hybrid schedule with 50% of time in Lansdale, PA office. Full-time remote work may be considered in PA or other states currently approved for hiring including but not limited to: TX, PA, NJ, MD, DE, FL.
