Inside Sales Representative (East Coast)

The Opportunity

In this role, you will support the delivery of power grid and energy solutions by serving as a key connection point between customers, account managers, and product groups within Hitachi Energy. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will help manage day-to-day customer interactions, from order entry and tracking to proposal development and issue resolution, ensuring timely and accurate responses to evolving customer needs. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and performance of power systems by helping ensure that products and solutions are delivered on time and aligned with customer expectations.

You will engage in multiple parallel projects, coordinate inputs across internal teams, and help translate customer requirements into actionable proposals and contracts. By supporting order management, investigating technical issues, and tracking delivery performance, you will play a meaningful role in maintaining strong customer relationships and satisfaction. This is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of power transmission and distribution products while building commercial and technical skills in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Manage daily customer interactions, including order entry, tracking, and responding to inquiries with appropriate solutions

  • Coordinate closely with account managers to support and maintain customer relationships

  • Oversee order management with local business units to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment

  • Track orders and communicate delivery status to support on-time performance

  • Collaborate with product groups to develop bids and proposals aligned with customer requirements

  • Prepare and revise proposal and contract documents, ensuring clarity in scope, terms, and cost data

  • Investigate customer concerns and technical issues, contributing to corrective actions and continuous improvement

  • Execute change orders and support the collection of overdue invoices

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Minimum three (3) years of customer support experience in Industrial, EPC, Utility, or related fields; five (5) years preferred

  • General knowledge of Power Transmission & Distribution products/systems and Power Generation preferred

  • Experience with business-to-business customer support preferred

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and web portals; familiarity with SAP and Salesforce (SFDC) preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Based East Coast United States (preferred)
