Purpose of the Job

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic consultant and trusted advisor to leadership, aligning HR strategies with business objectives. This role provides dedicated support to assigned Lines of Business (LOBs), partnering with leadership to enhance employee engagement, improve retention, and drive business success through effective HR initiatives.  This position plays a crucial role in driving organizational success through people-focused strategies, ensuring employees and leaders are supported in achieving their goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a strategic consultant to leadership, ensuring HR strategies align with business objectives and priorities.

  • Provides dedicated HR support to assigned LOBs, fostering strong partnerships with leadership teams.

  • Collaborates with LOB leadership to design and implement initiatives that drive employee engagement, leveraging employee survey feedback to enhance retention and satisfaction.

  • Offers expert employee relations support, coaching managers and employees on conflict resolution, workplace issues, HR policy compliance, remediation, and terminations.

  • Analyzes HR metrics to guide decision-making on hiring, reducing involuntary turnover, and improving retention strategies.

  • Partners with managers to identify performance gaps, address concerns, and support employee development plans.

  • Assesses training needs for employees and managers, working with the Training team to implement effective learning programs.

  • Conducts turnover analysis and develops action plans to mitigate unwanted attrition within assigned LOBs.

  • Supports the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization.

  • Contributes to succession planning efforts by identifying key roles, high-potential employees, and assisting in the development of career progression plans.

  • Provides change management support, partnering with leadership to guide employees through organizational transitions and minimize disruption.

  • Assists in workforce planning by forecasting talent needs and developing strategies to ensure the right people are in the right roles.

  • Offers proactive policy and compliance guidance, ensuring adherence to HR policies and legal standards.

  • Supports initiatives that enhance employee experience and well-being, including wellness programs and work-life balance efforts.

  • Must have proven ability to influence and build relationships with leadership at all levels.

  • Must have strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting HR data and trends.

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

  • Must have knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Must have excellent coaching, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have excellent computer skills, with intermediate skills in MS Excel and Word

  • Must have superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible, compassionate

  • Must be resourceful and well organized, with strong attention to detail

  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment required

  • Must be flexible and able to shift resources and priorities as required

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently

  • Must be able to work in a general office environment

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s members and employees

Physical Requirements

  •    Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required

  •    Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer

  •    Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

Education and Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

  • HR certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong background in HR business partnership, employee relations, and talent management, preferably supporting frontline or branchbased operations in a financial services or similar environment
