The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department and helps ensure efficient employee-related processes. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll support, attendance tracking, HR communications, and general office administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel records and HR databases.
  • Assist with job postings, applicant tracking, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding activities, including paperwork, orientation, system access, and required documentation.
  • Assist with employee offboarding and termination procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain employment-related documents, forms, letters, and reports.
  • Verify employment information and assist with background-check and pre-employment processes as applicable.
  • Maintain employee attendance, timekeeping, and leave records.
  • Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks and resolve basic timekeeping discrepancies.
  • Support employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment documentation.
  • Direct complex employee questions or concerns to the appropriate HR professional.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive HR information.
  • Assist with HR audits, reports, surveys, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, presentations, correspondence, and other HR-related materials.
  • Schedule HR meetings, interviews, orientations, and training sessions.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities, company events, and internal communications.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical HR files.
  • Assist with HR projects and process improvements.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous administrative, office, customer service, or HR experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to learn HR information systems and other company software.

  • Previous experience working in a Human Resources department.
