The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing HR processes and systems. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of HR activities, maintaining accurate employee records, and providing support for HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to drive HR operational excellence.
This role is based in our Charlotte, NC headquarters with the following hybrid schedule: in office Monday - Thursday, Friday optional.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time. 

  • Lead the Employee Onboarding and Offboarding process for CRC.
  • Update employee records and make requested updates in Workday.
  • Assist managers and employees with questions regarding payroll, benefits, compensation, time off, and leaves of absence, escalating matters to HR Leaders and Centers of Excellence (COEs) when necessary.
  • Manage the HR inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Provide administrative support and general office duties.
  • Execute daily time-sensitive tasks and requests efficiently.
  • Act as a support for HR Leaders, contributing to HR projects and initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 3+ years of HR experience (required), in an operations or generalist capacity (preferred).

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to execute time-sensitive tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
