Human Resources Generalist

Location: Gastonia, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience


Position Summary

Pacor, Inc. is seeking an organized and dependable Human Resources Generalist to support approximately 70 employees and coordinate HR activities involving 25–30 temporary associates across multiple manufacturing locations.

This hands-on position includes HR administration, timekeeping, recruiting, onboarding, benefits support, employee relations, and safety training administration. The position reports to the Director of Corporate Services.


Responsibilities
  • Review timecards, correct errors, and process employee changes in Paylocity.
  • Maintain accurate personnel, attendance, training, and other HR records.
  • Respond to routine employee questions about policies, benefits, timekeeping, and HR procedures.
  • Manage job postings, review applications, schedule and conduct interviews, and coordinate hiring with managers.
  • Communicate with temporary staffing agencies regarding staffing needs, attendance, performance, and assignment changes.
  • Complete new-hire onboarding and conduct orientation covering company policies and benefits.
  • Assist with benefit and 401(k) administration, invoice review, and employee questions.
  • Support managers with employee relations concerns, workplace investigations, and disciplinary documentation.
  • Help ensure company policies are applied consistently.
  • Manage safety training calendars and records for all locations.
  • Coordinate the companywide 6S inspection schedule and related records.
  • Prepare employee communications and maintain required HR postings.
  • Assist with special HR, safety, and employee-engagement projects.
  • Travel to company facilities in New Jersey and Georgia at least once per year.

The Generalist will initially support payroll through timecard review and employee data changes. After gaining sufficient experience in the position, the employee will be trained to assist with payroll processing.


Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary of $55,000–$65,000, based on experience.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in human resources, payroll, benefits, or a related field.
  • Associate degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent experience.
  • General knowledge of HR practices and employment requirements.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and protect confidential information.
  • Willingness to travel to other company locations at least annually.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of HR experience.
  • Experience with Paylocity or another HR and payroll system.
  • Recruiting, employee relations, payroll, or benefits experience.
  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
