Full time position. Monday-Friday. 40-50 hours during the growing season. 35-40 hours in the off season. 

Flower selection in some cases. Some of our clients are very specific about what flowers they want. Others are a little more open. Work with management to order the correct flowers for each annual install.

Flower installation- small color enhancements turn key by the horticultural staff.

Direct crews and layout flowers on larger jobs. Ensure that the landscape crew has completed all parts of installation. Prep, irrigation check, proper planting, fertilization, initial watering, clean up and animal control if needed.

Flower care- watering, fertilization, weeding and pinching as needed

Fine pruning- hand pruning all species of shrubs as needed. Correctional pruning on shrubs and small, ornamental trees (ex. Japanese maple)

Maintenance site observations- report site conditions beyond the scope of your work to the appropriate manager.

Report tasks completed daily/ weekly to the maintenance manager. Keep a journal of work completed and times at each site.

Ask questions. If you come across something new to you seek answers from management.

Assist landscape jobs with hand watering- this is a critical part of the job to revisit new installation sites to ensure plant material isn’t drying out or failing due to a lack of water. Provide landscape manager any site observations to avoid plant health issues.


Daily Routine

Report to management daily to relay work completed and to get a work list from the maintenance manager.

Visit sites in a geographically sensible manner to reduce travel time between stops. 

Complete work at each site as directed by management. Complete the most urgent tasks and catalogue any work left to complete for future visits. 

Clean, restock and organize your work vehicle on a regular basis to ensure that you are prepared to complete seasonal tasks.


What kind of person are we looking for:

  • A desire to grow, craves opportunity, loves problem solving and process improvement
  • A Degree in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environmental Sciences, Landscape Management, Turf-grass, or similar experience preferred.
  • The responsibility and independence to work autonomously  
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills to understand and meet client needs

A willingness to learn:

  • Tree/Plant Identification
  • How to safely and properly use spray and application equipment

What is essential:

  • Willingness to complete required trainings to obtain needed certifications & licenses. 
  • Desire to work outdoors
  • Valid Driver’s license to operate service-line vehicles 
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.

This position pays between $20-$22hr (depending on experience) + benefits + PTO + 401K
