The Head of Product, Portfolio Management leads the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Vanguard's portfolio management ecosystem, spanning portfolio construction, trading, custody integration, investment servicing, and managed accounts. What you will do:

Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Define and execute the strategic vision, roadmap, and investment priorities for Portfolio Management products.

  • Prioritize investments across product portfolios to balance growth, risk management, operational efficiency, and client experience.

  • Establish product roadmaps, KPIs, and success metrics aligned with business and enterprise objectives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams responsible for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of investment platform capabilities.

Trading, Custody & Operations Enablement

  • Partner with trading, operations, and technology teams to optimize trade generation, execution, allocation, reconciliation, and settlement processes.

  • Drive initiatives that improve trading capacity, reduce operational risk, and enable efficient portfolio management at scale.

  • Identify value-chain constraints and develop strategic solutions that increase automation, resilience, and throughput.

  • Ensure platforms support client growth, managed account expansion, and evolving investment offerings.

Industry Expertise & Vendor Integration

  • Provide industry leadership across wealth management, portfolio management, trading, custody, and investment servicing domains.

  • Evaluate, select, and integrate strategic vendor solutions to accelerate business outcomes and platform modernization.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless integration of best-in-class capabilities.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and investment decisions.

Governance & Leadership

  • Ensure regulatory, fiduciary, and supervisory requirements are embedded within products and processes.

  • Partner with compliance, risk, audit, and technology organizations to maintain strong governance and control practices.

  • Lead and develop product managers and product leaders across multiple domains.

  • Influence senior leadership decisions regarding platform strategy, technology investments, vendor partnerships, and transformation initiatives.

What it will take:

  • Deep expertise in wealth management, portfolio management, trading, custody, brokerage operations, or investment servicing.

  • Experience leading product organizations responsible for large-scale portfolio management or trading platforms.

  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle management, settlement, reconciliation, custody operations, and money movement.

  • Proven success delivering platform modernization, vendor integrations, and enterprise transformation initiatives.

  • Knowledge of advisory platforms, managed accounts, portfolio construction methodologies, and investment management workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional organizations.
