The Head of Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the daily business operations of the company to ensure compliance, productivity, and continuous value creation across all departments. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across performance management, facilities and equipment maintenance, cost optimization, health and safety, people management, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities - Oversee the development, documentation, delivery, and monitoring of the company’s operations strategy. - Work with Executive Management to establish corporate performance management practices for developing and reviewing monthly and annual operational strategies, initiatives, and targets. - Recommend and manage an appropriate organizational structure within the Operations Division with clear accountability and authority. - Manage and maximize organizational assets under the control of the Operations Department. - Ensure effective deployment, documentation, and maintenance of company assets. Work with Management to review systems, reduce overheads and downtime, and maximize efficiency and profitability. - Establish operating processes, manuals, and maintenance procedures in line with leading practices. Ensure appropriate health and safety protocols are implemented and maintained. - Oversee operational efficiency across relevant departments and units. Maintain cost-effective and appropriate operational processes. - Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices. Examine financial data and plan operations to improve profitability. - Formulate operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Oversee the timely and cost-effective repair and maintenance of equipment. - Motivate team members to achieve established goals and exceed targets. Oversee compliance with health and safety measures. - Supervise managers across related departments and ensure work meets expected performance standards. Review managers’ work and recommend improvement initiatives. Requirements - Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Operations role. At least 5 years of managerial experience. - Minimum of an HND or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or another relevant field. - Strong operations management and strategic leadership capability. Ability to manage teams, departmental managers, resources, assets, and operational performance. - Ability to develop and improve operational systems, processes, procedures, and best practices. - Understanding of facility, equipment, and preventive maintenance management. Ability to monitor costs, operational performance, and profitability. - Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and people-management capabilities. Understanding of workplace health, safety, and operational compliance requirements.
