The Sales Training Program:

Are you among the best and brightest at your college or university and wondering what's actually next? Life is short - so why wait for "real life" to start when you can put your knowledge to the test right now? We're looking for a high-energy, ambitious Sales & Marketing Intern who is ready to stop "contemplating" and start doing. This isn't a "get the coffee" kind of internship; it's an immersive, front-row seat to how a dominant local media organization wins in the digital-first world.

General Responsibilities:

  • What if your internship didn’t feel like an internship?
  • What if you actually learned how to sell?
  • At Gray Media, our Sales Interns don’t sit on the sidelines.
  • They learn how to build a business from day one.
  • The internship will be for a term of 10 weeks
  • This is a hands-on, real-world experience designed to teach you the fundamentals of media sales and help you build skills you can use in any career.

    What You'll Do:
    • Learn the Hustle: Shadow our elite sales team to see how they craft winning strategies for local businesses.
    • Master Multi-platform Marketing: Dive into the world of digital advertising, social media strategy, streaming (OTT), and linear broadcast sales to see how we reach audiences everywhere they are.
    • Go Behind- the- Scenes: Get an all-access look at the inner workings of a major media station from the Newsroom to the Boardroom.
    • Create a Real Impact: Assist in developing marketing materials and sales pitches that help local businesses grow and thrive.
    • Build Your Network: Work alongside industry pros who are invested in your growth and ready to help you launch your career.

    What you’ll learn:

    • How to confidently start conversations with clients
    • How to sell multi-platform advertising solutions (TV + Digital)
    • How to build and present a winning pitch
    • How to manage a pipeline and grow revenue

This internship is for you if:

       • You’re curious, competitive, and not afraid to try
       • You want real experience—not just something to put on a résumé
       • You’re interested in sales, marketing, or media
       • You’re ready to learn skills that translate to any industry

  • What makes this different:

    You won’t just “shadow.”
You’ll do the work—with guidance every step of the way.

Many of our interns turn into full-time hires.
And the ones who do? They hit the ground running.

    Details:

• Flexible hours (part-time, designed for students)
• Paid internship
• Opportunities available across Gray Media markets nationwide

Qualifications:

          What You Bring:

  • • Senior Status (preferred): You're currently enrolled in a college or university, ideally in your final year and ready to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world.
    • A "Business First" Mindset: You're earning a degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field and have a genuine hunger for the media industry.
    • Killer Work Ethic: You don't just show up; you dive in. You're organized, proactive, and ready to take on a challenge.
    • Digital Curiosity: You understand the media is more than just TV- you're eager to learn how digital and social platforms drive real ROI.
    • Strong Communication Skills: You're comfortable talking to people, asking questions, and sharing your ideas (we want to hear them!)
    • Urgency and Empathy: You care about the results, but also care about the people and the community we serve.
  • Why You Will Love It Here:
    • Paid Experience: We value your time and talent - this is a paid program designed to invest in your future.• Real-World Mentorship: You won't just be a face in the crowd; you'll be a valued member of the team with mentors who actually know your name.
  • If you’re ready to learn how to sell—and actually enjoy it—we’d love to meet you.
  • The intern pay rate can range from minimum wage in your state to $15 an hour. Interested in the program?
