About Maven

Maven is reinventing our post-secondary education system from the ground up. We're starting with practical, professional courses on key skills taught by leading experts in your field. Think: learning AI Product Management from a head of product at OpenAI or an engineering lead at Meta. Our cohort-based model means our engagement rates are 80-90% instead of the 5-10% from video-based learning. Maven's marketplace has 500+ expert-led cohort-based courses, 70K+ student alumni, and 700K+ registered users. Today, we're direct to consumer but eventually we'll offer certificate programs, MBA-like programs, and sell directly to businesses.

We are founder-led; our CEO, Gagan, co-founded Udemy, and our CTO, Shreyans, was the first engineer at Venmo. Our business grew over 100% last year. We've raised $25 million from Andreessen Horowitz, First Round, and a supportive network of industry angels and are on track for profitability.

Role Overview

Every month, several thousand alumni complete a Maven course, which are designed and taught by real-world professionals, in an interactive cohort across a few weeks. This is not education for the sake of it, it’s skill development for a tangible professional purpose.

Your primary KPI is GMV/ active registered user.

This is a full-stack, high-impact role ideal for a senior operator who can zoom out to buyer psychology, and zoom in to craft a sharp email or execute an exciting brand activation moment.

Why This Role Matters

Today, student demand for AI courses is significant. The market wants to learn this transformative new technology, and Maven has the best instructors, teaching in the most practical, applied and empowering courses. But the market has a problem: the AI hype is real, and the noise, overwhelming. People can’t tell what matters, who’s credible, and what’s worth their time.

Maven’s trusted brand can offer a solution, and we see an opportunity to make a significant investment into our mid-funnel channels, which offer useful content, and help people discover our credible instructors.

We’ve got solid channel traction across email, Lightning Lessons and a small number of exclusive affiliate partnerships, and now we’re looking for a creative operator to take them to the next level with an extraordinary mix of operational excellence, CRM expertise, and editorial taste. Is this you?

Team & Culture

Maven is a small, high-trust, high-ownership team. We move fast, write often, and bias toward action. Everyone is hands-on — from the founders to the newest hire. Expect direct feedback, collaborative thinking, and a culture that prizes clarity, impact, and creativity.

We are fully remote, with no-meeting Wednesdays and biannual in-person offsites. Join us to do the best work of your career, and help build the world’s most dynamic education brand.

Compensation

$150k-$200k in salary, with strong benefits, and equity.
