OverviewDecisionPoint seeks a Front End & Digital Experience Engineer to support the Military OneSource (MOS) website, WordPress development activities, accessibility initiatives, and broader digital experience modernization efforts across the MODES III Program. This role serves as a technical leader within the Digital Services team, responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Military OneSource web experiences while helping shape the future of digital products and services delivered under MODES III. The successful candidate will combine deep expertise in front-end development, WordPress engineering, accessibility, and user experience with the flexibility to support emerging applications, mobile experiences, customer-facing platforms, and digital modernization initiatives. The Senior Front End & Digital Experience Engineer collaborates closely with UX designers, product owners, accessibility specialists, content strategists, backend developers, business analysts, and government stakeholders to deliver modern, accessible, responsive, and user-centered digital experiences. 

This position is fully remote. 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical lead for Military OneSource and related MC&FP websites.
  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible, and user-centered web experiences using WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Translate UX wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts into production-ready solutions.
  • Implement interactive user experiences and front-end functionality that improve customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Ensure Section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance across all websites, applications, and digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs, services, and dynamic content.
  • Support content management, template development, and component-based design approaches within WordPress environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex front-end, usability, accessibility, and performance issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Partner with product owners and stakeholders to identify opportunities for digital experience improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and newly onboarded team members.
  • Support modernization initiatives involving websites, applications, mobile platforms, analytics, and emerging technologies across MODES III.
  • Contribute to requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation planning efforts.
  • Document development standards, accessibility guidance, reusable components, and implementation best practices.
Qualifications

Clearance Requirement 

  • Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation. 

Education (Required) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering, or a related field. 

Experience (Required) 

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in front-end development.
  • Experience supporting enterprise websites, content management systems, or digital platforms.
  • Experience with WordPress development, theming, customization, and content management.
  • Experience implementing accessible, responsive, and mobile-friendly user experiences.
  • Experience supporting Agile development teams.
  • Experience collaborating with designers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
Technical Knowledge (Required)
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design techniques.
  • Strong WordPress development and administration experience.
  • Experience with WCAG, Section 508, accessibility testing, and accessibility remediation.
  • Experience integrating APIs and dynamic content into web applications.
  • Ability to translate UX designs into production-ready user interfaces.
  • Understanding of content management systems and digital experience platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex front-end and user experience issues.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
  • Experience supporting the Military OneSource website or other MC&FP digital platforms.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Experience supporting mobile applications and responsive digital products.
  • Familiarity with Drupal, headless CMS architectures, or modern digital experience platforms.
  • Experience with analytics, customer experience metrics, and digital performance optimization.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and cloud-based environments.
  • Familiarity with product management, requirements analysis, and digital modernization initiatives.
Certifications (Preferred)
  • IAAP CPACC, WAS, or CPWA.
  • DHS Trusted Tester Certification.
  • Security+.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation.
  • Front-End Development, UX/UI, Accessibility, or Product Management certifications.
