This role serves as a liaison between Fraud Operations, Legal, Compliance, and business partners to gather, analyze, and produce customer records in response to subpoenas, court orders, and fraud investigations.

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Fraud Consultant within Fraud and Claims Operations to support subpoena response and fraud-related records research activities. This role serves as a liaison between Fraud Operations, Legal, Compliance, and business partners to gather, analyze, and produce customer records in response to subpoenas, court orders, and fraud investigations.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in research and consultation activities involving fraud investigations, subpoenas, and legal requests
- Conduct detailed analysis and retrieval of customer records, account documentation, and transaction data from multiple bank systems
- Review subpoena requests and associated legal documentation to determine records required and applicable timelines
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Fraud Operations, and operational business groups to obtain and validate requested information
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements to records retrieval and subpoena fulfillment procedures
- Present recommendations for resolving process issues, mitigating operational risk, and strengthening controls
- Exercise independent judgment while managing multiple subpoena requests and court-mandated deadlines
- Ensure responses are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements
- 2+ years of Fraud, Investigations of Fraud, Claim Transactions or Policy Violations, Risk Management, Compliance, Operations, Legal Support, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience processing subpoenas, court orders, legal requests, or records retrieval
- Knowledge of banking products including DDA, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, loans, and credit products
- Experience navigating multiple banking systems to research and retrieve customer records
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret legal documentation
- Knowledge of fraud operations and investigative processes
- Experience working with Legal, Compliance, and Risk partners
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage high-volume workloads
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Standard hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Manage subpoena requests received through a shared mailbox process
- Meet established service-level agreements and court-mandated deadlines
- Work closely with Legal and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of requests
- Handle confidential customer information in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements
- Support approximately 100 active requests/cases within a team-based environment as business needs require.
