Job
This opportunity will oversee and implement Company's external reporting processes, develop financial reporting processes and tools, oversee the preparation of annual non-public financial statement for numerous legal entities.  The ideal candidate should possess technical accounting acumen to assist with addressing US Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (US GAAP), ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparation, develop, and maintain Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance around financial reporting. The candidate should be able to communicate closely with stakeholders, executive team and external parties such as our External Auditors.

Reporting to the Controller, this position will be responsible for working with Accounting and must be a go-getter who is team oriented. This individual must possess a strong desire to improve processes and implement controls around the financial reporting process. The successful candidate is someone who can be a strong mentor and possesses the ability to coach others but who enjoys rolling up their sleeves when necessary. The selected individual must possess the ability to multi-task and have a high degree of initiative, ownership, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Critical skills the candidate must possess include being organized, proactive, collaborative, critical thinker, adaptable, possess a sense of urgency, and detailed nature. The senior accountant must be able to work effectively under pressure due to inflexible deadlines mandated by outside parties and rapidly changing conditions and/or requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for financial statement preparation to include all supporting documentation 
  • Responsible for keeping current with technical accounting pronouncements and assist with analyzing the impact on the Company
  • Lead the Company’s US GAAP) Compliance efforts
  • Develop processes aimed at maintaining supporting binders with documents to support financial statement disclosure data
  • Collaborate with External Auditor on timing of audit deliverables and deadlines
  • Variance Analysis of Financial Statements
  • Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions and interpret GAAP accounting standards 
  • Document accounting positions on unusual and/or complex transactions and work closely with the team to implement procedures to ensure properly implementation of such accounting rules on those positions
  • Assist others in the preparation of monthly internal management reporting package and other analyses as needed.
  • Monitor and identify major performance areas for enhancement via automation and integration where possible.
  • Train and develop staff in their areas, as needed. Provide performance feedback and coaching.

Experience You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation requiredMinimum of 5 years related experience. Candidate with experience at a “Big4” or regional firm or a combination of public accounting and industry environment experience are highly preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of Sage Intacct ERP preferred
  • Strong MS Office application (Excel and Word) required
  • Experience of conducting technical accounting to address accounting for complex and/or unusual transactions required
  • Strong knowledge of FASB standards and GAAP affecting accounting and financial reporting required.
  • Strong research and quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Strong and effective written and oral communication skills required
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy required
  • Adaptability/flexibility and teamwork skills are necessary.
