This role: As a member of the Shark Product Development HairCare team, you will bring together a creative product marketing role and technical outlook to our creative efforts to ensure that imaginative but credible solutions populate our ambitious product roadmap. This role will be part of our growing Shark HairCare Product Development team, working on a variety of new innovative beauty products. This role will be part of our growing Shark HairCare Product Development team, working on a variety of new innovative beauty products. Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
- Partner with HairCare Product Development team members to help with the successful product launches of new and cutting-edge Shark beauty products
- Conduct user testing with internal associates and external consumers to gain user experience and product performance insights, answer team questions on latest prototypes, and provide direct product recommendations based on user feedback
- Develop user-relevant design targets for product performance and user experience (human factors, touchpoints, KPIs, and Consumer Satisfaction Indicators) - and act as the beacon of these targets to the cross-functional team of engineers, industrial designers, and commercial marketers
- Collaborate with Brand Marketing and Creative teams on updates to product packaging, instruction guides, and more
- Assist in the definition and development of product specifications relating to replacement components, marrying consumer wants/needs and creating efficiencies in how we manage these components in our internal systems
- Act as a product "expert" for cross-functional team member questions and concerns
- Assist with new product setups and product information management, coordination of data/information for consumer research, development of competitive landscapes, and more
ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
- Education: Must be currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program, or have graduated within the past year
- Must be pursuing academic studies in the disciplines of Business, Marketing, Engineering, Human Factors, or a combination of the above.
- Must be able to work a full-time, 40-hour-per-week schedule with 5 days per week onsite in Needham, MA
- A "100% on" consumer-first perspective when it comes to introducing new products/processes or improving current products
- Must have an interest in and/or passion for the Beauty category, specifically hair care
- Must be comfortable and perceptive discussing experiences with people on personal topics such as their hair washing, styling routines, and other personal care experiences
- A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly-effective communication skills - both written (presentation/email) and in-person (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management)
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment
- The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward
- Previous use of the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook) is preferred
