The Product Portfolio Manager will support the Product Portfolio Management Leader with aligning business, technology & brand strategy to enterprise vision, developing OKRs & KPIs across product roadmaps and supporting business & technology partners with execution from ideation to delivery.
The specific area of responsibility for this role will be to support Product Portfolio Management for Underwriting Technology.
Responsibilities:
Works with RGA leaders on strategic planning, to build & support a product portfolio to align with enterprise strategy. Partners with underwriting, medical officers, data science, engineering/technology, product management, marketing and research leaders throughout completion of critical milestones.
Manages a dynamic intake and prioritization process to identify new capabilities and collaborates with product managers to develop clear OKRs and KPIs, roadmaps to supports strategic growth initiatives.
Enables underwriting technology strategy execution across all RGA regional & local offices, and their clients.
Facilitates the discovery and definition of product initiative requirements to support prototyping and scale-up; develop business cases including resource needs and cost where applicable.
Consults on design and development activities to effectively develop differentiating services and business capabilities. Facilitates the preparation of launch plans and ensures successful go-to-market execution.
Develops integrated marketing strategy for proper positioning and messaging for products. Works with business strategy & product leaders to direct focus on strategic product decisions and understanding of competitive landscape.
Develops key marketing messages and global marketing plan & brand framework in collaboration with global marketing and regional stakeholders.
Supports and enables multidisciplinary teams to be successful by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships, promotes knowledge sharing through multiple forums and communication channels.
Support stakeholder meetings and KPI reporting for the portfolio on a regular basis.
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Life sciences, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience
Work Experience
10+ years of life, annuity, health insurance industry experience, proficiency in underwriting
5+ years of experience with product & portfolio management or relevant experience with business consulting
Experience in IT delivery, software product development and/or software engineering is a plus.
Preferred:
Product or Portfolio Management certification
FLMI or CLU designation
Lean Six Sigma certification.
MBA or master’s degree
Skills & Abilities:
5–10 years of product management and/or soft delivery experience with a strong track-record in launching products and services.
Proven success in executing enterprise-level business and IT strategies.
Deep understanding of life insurance business concepts, system architecture, software engineering, and data science.
Expertise in using customer feedback and process KPIs to enhance product management and product outcomes.
Skilled in evaluating solution and design trade-offs for effective commercialization.
Advanced consulting ability across operational, functional, and technical domains for solution definition.
Experience in product portfolio management (highly desirable).
Strong capability to operate at the intersection of business, engineering, and client experience with a customer-centric approach.
Excellent people skills; adept at leading global, cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
People management experience is a plus.
Proven ability to drive organizational change with stakeholder engagement and ownership.
Exceptional oral and written communication, including impactful presentation skills.
Highly adaptable to change and effective under tight deadlines.
Strategic decision-maker with a focus on planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and policies.
Visionary leader with a track record of achieving goals through collaboration, creativity, and persistence.
Skilled in solving complex problems using advanced analytical thinking and innovative solutions.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (less than 25%).

Compensation Range:
$123,500.00 - $184,050.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
